Oh, this is just so very wonderful. Β I'm not sure I even put into words what I see. Β Did you do the cloth texture entirely by hand, or did you use actual cloth as a sort of stamp and finish it by hand? Β Either way, I love the effect.
Somehow, looking at this, I can see why you were drawn to Vue. Β It looks like a beautifully impossible combination of glass, water, and sky.

This painting was inspired by someone's photo of an outdoors heating lamp ... I thought I saw some reflections of trees on it, facing the centre, which inspired me to do a 'look inwards' point of view. I indeed used Vue to project scenes of California and Cornwall onto a sphere to create a reference image. and ,yes, I used stamping with a burlap/hessian fabric to create most of the cloth texture (inspired by California watercolour technique so), no way could I paint each thread individuallyπ
