One night in New York City in 2005, Desmond's boss offered to give him the night off. Desmond gladly accepted, happy to take a break from his bartending job. As Bad Weather was reaching closing hours, Desmond's boss offered to sit down with him and share one of his famous drinks, the “Shirley Templar” with him. Desmond took the offer with a smile and the two sat down for an unofficial date. The two had a great time. Desmond shared some of his crazy stories from before he ran away from his Assassin parents and all they're rambling about Templars. The two laughed and eventually went to Desmond's apartment to spend the night.

They… intensified their affections for each other that night, and returned to work the next day with smiles on their faces. Unknown to either of them, their fun time resulted in Desmond's boss becoming pregnant. Nine months later, her son was born, and she didn't know Desmond was the father. It would be a decade later, long after Desmond's death, that the Templars would discover the child's father, and they devised despicable plans for how they could experiment on the kid for their personal gain. This child, who was born with the bizarre condition of having different eye colors, had a lot coming for him in the future.
