Description This is a bit of a departure from what I normally do, but I think it's also reflective of my life and my mind in general at this point. I just turned 25 and life has been pretty interesting so far. I feel very fortunate to be alive and experiencing life. And more importantly, trying to learn from my experiences so far. I like to think that everyone goes through growth their whole lives, it's what makes life worth living in my understanding.

This is colored pencil, Tombow markers, ink wash, gouache, and india ink.

I just realized I look like Blanka from Street Fighter in this pic...awesome.

thanks! yeah, this started as just a sketch. i wish i had made the face more symmetrical and all that, but oh well. fun to take random ideas to finished ones. very good feeling.

Very intriguing. Because your eyes lead the viewer's gaze upwards, I sense your soul is escaping through your mind into the very branches...if that makes sense I was emotionally touched by this.

thanks after i posted it, i looked at it again and wondered why i had made the tree so dead looking. but then i realized just because it looks cool and NOT because i'm dead inside.
