Portugal is crazy about chickens. He loves their eggs, their meat... and one of his national symbols is a black rooster! [link]So it's no wonder the black rooster is seen as his (unofficial) national animal, while Spain has the bull
I've been wanting to draw their animals together for some time, but couldn't think of a good idea for a comic strip. It finally hit me when I drew the rest of the rooster's family (a rooster can't be proud if it doesn't have a family to defend)
I named the rooster Joaquim, the hen Guilhermina and the chick EusΓ©bio

ah yes the black roster, i used to have one but i donno what happen to it, i think it broke. i almost thought the bull was Portugal's bc i thought of teixeira's toreadas (gah i love toreadas!!!<3). but ya i remember how spain are crazy with their bulls XD <3

(I already have an OC for his eagle. It's a female (because they're bigger and it's so like America to want the biggest around. He thinks she's a male though) named Oreo that's always saying hero~hero)

That's exactly what I was after. Not all bulls are dangerous beasts
Two reasons:
1) Black roosters are considered unlucky (except by Portugal)
2) They're very defensive of their families
