This is a tutorial for Gimp 2.10. In this tutorial I show you how I make the surface of water. Instead of the water looking like a flat texture where there is no natural perspective, it will seem to have depth and perspective. It's not really a difficult process, but it does get a little bit complicated when we make the displacement texture. The images start at the top right and work down. They are arranged in columns, not rows. So, once you get to the row below the text, the pictures are ordered top to bottom, left to right in columns of three. The step number is listed somewhere on each image for better clarity. Hopefully I've worded everything clearly enough to be easy to follow and understand. If I haven't, feel free to ask questions. If I can answer them I will.
