Description
One more colour swatch for Artrage. This one is a little different for a couple of reasons. First of all, there are two systems used to organize the colours.1. Tria System where the numbers indicate hue, saturation and luminosity. (This system was used for the smaller files as well as the TRIA-FULL-SET.col file)
2. The Pantone-Based System for organizing the colours (no longer used). (You can find this in one full set in the TRIA-PANTONE.col file)
Second, I split up the TRIA-system colours according to their main colour groupings -- e.g., Red (R), Orange (O), etc. -- and saved them in smaller file.
How to Set the Palettes Up:
1. First download the zip file by clicking on download above.
2. Next, unzip the contents (the two .col files) in the zip file into C:/Program Files/Ambient Design/ArtRage 2/Resources/Colors
3. Lastly, start up Artrage - and activate the Color Sample Panel.
4. Click on the arrow and "Load Colors". It should open to the Colors folder where you can see the Prismacolor sample palette you just downloaded.
5. Select on one of the TRIA* files (for example, TRIA-PANTONE.col) and click on "Open" and you are ready to go.

how are u meant to see what the name of the colours are it just says the code ?

The full names (as well as the codes) are visible in both Artrage 2 and 3 -- if you have a sufficient screen resolution, font size and the colour sampler window is the appropriate size.

And, before I forget, the Letraset company did a neat thing -- they are already made Tria colour sets for Photoshop and Illustrator, which are downloadable at their website.

Some background...
Tria markers are made by Letraset in England -- see [link] I tend to find them a bit more 'art pen' -- but they do have a much broader spectrum.
Plus they have a system -- see [link] -- which organize their colours by hue, saturation and intensity. (It's really helpful when you are planning out your artwork.)
As for Copic colours: if you want my Copic set I made for Artrage (which was done by actually matching markers' colours on paper), they are also located in the Artrage folder of my gallery -- along with the Tria and Prismacolour sets.

Well, this is probably the last swatch I'll be doing for Artrage for a while -- even though the swatches have been good for generating traffic.
However, I'd be sad to see your tutorials go, to be honest -- because they have application far outside of GIMP. I've learned a fair chunk from looking at them.

I think I get what you are saying. If I provide GIMP color swatches, then it would get limited to that application alone.
Unless I go and create for all different raster editors. (GIMP, Photoshop, ArtRage). But that is a tall order.

If it were me, then I'd focus on the GIMP side of things. The resource side of things with GIMP is a niche that needs filling and I think it could work.
For example, the Copic swatch for GIMP has worked for gatogirl12345 -- see [link] . And it doesn't look like there are too many swatches out there -- I've only spotted so far a Winsor-Newton swatch and a Copic swatch. And, there is nothing as useful as a Pantone-type swatch yet for GIMP -- at least that I can find. I suspect that there is a need for some sort of system for keeping track of colours.

Aren't these (Copic, Pantone etc) standards used by printers?
I was thinking more in terms of ease of use when someone wants to follow my tutorials, they don't need to hunt around for the colors if they want to emulate the tutorials exactly.
I guess I will be poking around a bit with this.
