"The figure slowly turned around, facing Hel as she stared in fear.
The figure's hair was disheveled, their dress ripped in different areas, cuts and bruises littering their arms and legs as their arms seemed to be chained to the inky floor.
However the most frightening thing about their appearance was their face.
Their eyes were pitch black, black as the Void, as well as their mouth as ink spilled from it.
Hel began backing away, never taking her eyes off of them, but yelped when a pair of pale hands grabbed her ankles. She looked down, only seeing a pair of pale arms through the abyss.
Without warning, the hands gave a harsh tug, pulling her into the abyss at an alarming rate.
Hel tried to scream, but nothing could be heard as her vessel was dragged through the darkness."

03: Symbolic

I really struggled to figure out what to use for symbolism before deciding upon a scene I had written in a scrapped chapter. This is a consistent dream (or nightmare) Hel has that likes to show up every once in a while. It's reasoning for it is unclear to her, but in reality it symbolizes her mother's imprisonment and her own. Vanesa, imprisoned against her will by the cult and along with her soul being secured in Hel's amulet.
And Hel's being that she can't escape her haunted past no matter where she goes.
In conclusion, Hel doesn't get anything nice.
(Also fun fact! This is two old drawing combined into one! Well one of them was a sketch but still-)
