Thank you! I took a look at your shot. It's the same place just when no one is around.

No problem! If you have more questions about technique, please ask! Also, the lends is a Voigtlander 40mm f/2. That info is not listed in the EXIF data.

I wonder, have you ever met people who said something to you because you took pictures of them?

I was photographing a restaurant once from the outside and the cook actually came out and told me to go away. He was very rude about it so I reciprocated by taking a photo of him. Here is the photo: tokyostreet.photo/post/8955401β¦
In general, shop staff don't like to be photographed. But 99% of the time I have no issues. I smile and will gladly show people the photo. If they have any qualms I just tell them how good they look and they are cool with it.
Lastly, most people assume I'm a tourist taking touristy photos so that gives it all a sense of propriety.

I wish I could! It's so pretty, and amazing!Β
I'm trying to learn to speak Japanese with small success. I'm still a complete beginner. I know only a few phrases... I need money to buy textbooks... Β Japan is pretty much the main goal in my life!Β

I know! I keep trying! I use some free websites, but I think I'll need extra help. I asked the foreign exchange student from Japan for a little help, and she said she'd help, and so far, she told me to study hiragana and katakana!Β
When I go to college, which is possibly after I graduate next year, I'm going to take Japanese as possibly my major or minorβ¦.
And I want to do study abroad in Japan.Β

burningmonk In reply to jusitnswest [2015-04-08 03:04:02 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, if you're just at the hiragana / katakana level then you need to get those two down ASAP. If you study them hard with flashcards you can learn the two alphabets in a week. After that, start with basic conversation like introducing yourself and study grammar. To build vocabulary, immediately start studying the kanji. You'll regret it later if you don't. Also, get familiar with something called the 'Heisig method' - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rememberβ¦
Good luck!

Japanese wear mask because they don't want to make other people get cold from themselves. That's one of the reasons why I like Japanese.

Air quality in Japan is fine. People wear masks when they're sick as courtesy. It's intended to avoid spreading your illness.

The people seem so strangely connected with their eyes closed in unison (haha I promise I'm not trying to be racist)
And what brings out the piece best (for me) is the lighted signs and the blossoms. Β The Pink neon foreground, and the misty blue background is very beautiful! Β Makes me want to dream this at night! Β Very pleasant piece

Haha, no worries, their eyes are indeed closed. And yes, warm and cool tones can be very dreamy! I like visiting this place as it's very photogenic and conveniently located.
