As a James cosplayer, I have to remember the motto by heart. Most people at the conventions ask me to recite it.

Nice picture. Er...I actually was working on a Pokemon fanfic which starts off with Jessie and James (& Meowth) being fired by Giovanni, having been considered a failure by him. You know, after trying to capture only one Pokemon and doing all the procedures incorrectly.

Admit it. When you first heard them say that in their first appearance on the show you thought they were a real threat. Now they're just those incompetent goons that we can't help but laugh at their failure. And you know what the strange thing is? We still love them anyway!
I remember an episode where even Meowth thought the motto was long winded. So he ends up grabbing a remote and fast forwards everything Jessie and James says but stops it just in time to deliver his part of their motto.

Since Black and White they've actually been pretty serious. Apparently during the interim between seasons they went for retraining so they're not such big screw-ups.(They still lose to Ash&co all the time but it's always in a way they can deal with.)
I kinda miss the old motto. Whenever I see old episodes of PokΓ©mon it always brings back such a wave of nostalgia.
