After standing next to my tripod and pressing the shutter button every 30 seconds as carefully as possible so as not to bump the camera, for half an hour, I will never, ever, ever think those words again.

Nice work, as usually
BTW: New magic lantern works like a charm and removes the need for remote trigger altogether. It features both bulb timer and intervalometer(and both combined) + many more interesting stuff. All u need is few extra Kb on your CF card, and your MK2 becomes an ultimate night camera. Give it a try and let me know

Thanks Boris Yeah I have heard of magic lantern. A couple of guys at my astronomy club use it. I will probably get it for my 60D at some stage.

LOL, i love the introduction. I just bought a nice little remote that can do time intervals and look forward to getting out there and trying this out.

It's like Karl Maldon used to say on those American Express commercials...Don't Leave Home Without It! Oh, well, it seems you did just fine going 'old school'

It's not nearly as bad as the time I spent an hour or so in sub-zero weather taking numerous constellation portraits only to get home and discover there had never been any film in the camera! Anyway, another magnificent shot, Greg!

"I'll leave my tripod in the car, just going to go walk around and check the place out" I said to myself last night after walking far back on a trail at sunset were four herrings catching fish in shallow water... haven't checked the pictures yet... but I forgot my camera remote the time before I went out shooting....
If this picture is the result of not having a camera remote then I must say it ended up coming out just fine

Thank you I hope you managed to still get some shots without the tripod. I have forgotten my tripod only once. Made do with a rolled up coat on top of my car.

We all have to follow our heart and if graphic design and video editing is your passion then go for it. Don't feel bad for not doing other work.
Great work with the "sliding is not a crime" vid. You guys must go through a lot of gardening gloves You will never see me doing anything like that. I'm not very coordinated when something other than my feet are touching the ground. At six foot six the old saying of the bigger they are the harder they fall is certainly true.

The lesson there is: always take everything!
Turned out very nicely though. Looks like the dead tree is being sucked into a star vortex.
