Think I should give this a go on a Stubbs or something, especially as I'm finding it rather intimidating trying to colour horses accurately but with some flair, if you will.

Had to come back and thank you for the mental poke about using a grid to help structure the drawing. I've since been using it on photographs to help me understand the shapes and their interactions with each other. I can see a notable improvement and it's thanks to you

I would like to do one of these with Dali's the Elephants. Its looks fun

Uff, be careful with that one though! It has lots of different versions online in terms of colors, I'd try to pick one that seems "safe", not too saturated or too dull. But it's a fun painting for sure

I should try this. It's been a few years since I did a master study. They certainly do help learn more about the artist's technique of the original.
