Hawkheart is actually a really good character. In both Tallstar's Revenge and Yellowfang's Secret he was seen to be rather warm-hearted at times. People hate Hawkheart because he killed Moonflower, but in that case he felt he didn't have a choice. If he hadn't killed her or fought her off, the herbs would have been destroyed and a lot of WindclanΒ cats would have died from their wounds and infection. He's a very good character, and I would like to see a super edition for him!

Saying Hawkheart did nothing wrong is like saying Hitler did nothing wrong in the Warriors fandom, but really, he didn't do anything wrong. Moonflower was an intruder who threatened WindClan's weakest by destroying their herbs. Just because we see him kill her from Bluepaw's POV doesn't mean that it was evil; Graystripe could be seen as a bad character for killing Darkstripe if it were written the right way.Β

If you want to draw parallels to Hitler, Tigerstar is a better fit.
But we see that Hawkheart isn't really evil in Tallstar's Revenge and Yellowfang's Secret. He either did what he thought was appropriate in the situation, or he got caught up in the moment and wasn't fully aware of what he was doing, which happens to LOTS of cats when you look across the series.

Hawkheart has always been a favorite medicine cat of mine. He often gets forgotten (there are, after all, probably 1,000 characters in the series). He also has a similar personality to most medicine cats, but he gets his own twist. He seems to be heartless, when really all he does is devote his life to his Clan. No family ties, friendships or forbidden relationships hold him back. This is a real character.
On a side note of this little rant like thing, I do want to comment not he beauty of this artwork. I love how you have the focus on Hawkheart, and the beautiful backgrounds just adding to the picture of him, not suppressing it.

if you want to get better at drawing, you just have to keep practicing. make doodles, drawing in your free time, etc. it's really about the amount of effort and practice you put in!
I would also suggest to look at photographs to get a better understanding of cat anatomy or look up tutorials on deviantart/youtube to help yourself learn.

I'm kind neutral to him. Yeah, I'm getting tired for "I did it for the Clan" crap, but Moonflower was a "meeeh" character, so I don't feel bad for her.Β
Cats need to kill other cats for defend themselves, it's only cat drama, don't get so mind to it, folks.Β
