Really it was disappointing? I was really excited because Mapleshade is one of my favorite villains! Her story seemed so depressing to me was it really that bad?

imo, it could've been a lot better. the reason she turned "evil" wasn't really even her fault because all the other characters were such pricks to her. :S
i was disappointed, but that was probably because i was too hyped up for it.

Well it was a short *shrugs* But I get it. I am just so in love with the Warriors Series to care about how painfully crappy some of it is, I cant wait for the new series! I already have spoilers for myself that are making me go all fan girl! The next medicine cat apprentice of Thunderclan will be a tom *shrieks*

i thought we would get some really interesting plot twist like maybe Mapleshade lied about Appledusk blaming her? but no it happened exactly how you would've expected it to. :c i can't believe her motivation was basically "MY KITS ARE DEAD AND I'M PISSED."

I found it enjoyable when she was hallucinating her own kits, but that was about it. Like I liked how they were like, "Kill him, mama!"
Patchkit was my favorite though, he didn't deserve to die.
But yeah, she needed development and stuff. The deaths were terrible too. It was literally, "She bit his (not saying the name) neck and he fell limp." I mean, really? You've written more detailed deaths than that, like Tigerstar! Even The Last Hope was more gorey than this book... which is sad.
I'll still give The Apprentice's Quest a try. I heard SkyClan is in it, so I hope it'll be a plot twist. If it's disappointing, gonna quit warriors for good.

I only read warriors now if there's nothing to read. I'm trying other things. My friend suggested Varjak Paw to me and I'm reading it. It's not very detailed, but definitely better than warriors. I say give it a try. There's only two books out right now.
I'm going to the library tomorrow and gonna pick out more "mature' books that aren't kitties. I'm trying newer things after realizing that warriors really isn't all that great /: I still like it, but not as much as I used to, like it's "the best series ever". There's so many errors, even grammar mistakes. A lot of people actually prefer my writing over Warriors and I find that funny XD I try really hard to be different and creative, so I want to become an Author when I grow up. I learn from the Erins' mistakes. XD I don't want errors!
Seriously though, I tried to write a warriors fanfic from my own OCs, and I already made a freaking error. I can understand why the Erins are making errors, but it's not like it's hard to grab a book and do quick research. Even the fans take up a lot of time to fix the errors. My friend actually embarrassed Vicky for making an error about this book's timezone. She feels like it didn't happen around the time SkyClan was exiled because the medicine cats were completely different. Vicky told her she doesn't want to say what time it happened due to errors. Basically meaning she embarrassed an author. I find that hilarious.

i've actually read varjak paw! x'D it's pretty interesting and the characters are likable
i guess the reason why there's so many mistakes is because there are so many books and it's easy for their editors or them to notice a mistake...but even still. X(

if you're curious about her background, then you should read it (it's pretty short). but you should find the free pdf version because it's not really worth your money imo.
