Description
Although they are surrounded by cherry blossoms, Sesshoumaru seems interested only in a certain bellflower. He moves in to close the distance between their lips while Kikyou appears to melt under his gaze...Note: For these who don't know, Kikyou's name means Chinese Bellflower.
I have to say I'm proud of how this artwork came out. I tried a new way to color, and I loved the result. The lineart and colors were done in Paint Tool Sai, the background and effects in Photoshop 7.
I made this fanart to try to inspire those who decided to participate in the Spring 2011 Contest at We are holding a challenge for each season. Come visit the group and check our current theme. ^ ^

I don't understand the whole SessxKik thing, they didn't have any connection whatsoever through the series. Kikyo's heart belongs to Inuyasha..

Oh, I understand your opinion. I also tend to support only canon couples. ^ ^ Actually, Sesshoumaru and Kikyou are the only alternate pairing that I truly like. I can't talk for all the Sess/Kik fans, but in my case, I started liking them together when the series was still ongoing. Inuyasha and Kagome's love was beautiful, and I started to doubt if Kikyou really loved Inuyasha when she tried to kill Kagome. Kikyou and Sesshoumaru had a lot in common, and in the beginning, I thought that maybe he could bring her back to life with Tenseiga. When she saved Rin, I really believed that something could happen between them in the next chapters. Since then, my love for this couple just increased, and even when the series ended, I just couldn't stop thinking about all the possibilities that they could have had. They are both characters so complex and mysterious... I simply love to imagine how they would interact, even if not romantically. ^ ^
Well, I have more reasons for liking them together, but they are too many to post in just one comment. ^ ^

You are amazing. I am not a fan of Kikyou in the very slightest due to her coming in between Inuyasha and Kagome, but she is a beautiful character and adds to the series. You really put that out there in your drawings and it is inspiring.
