This is my submission for Color Battle 08 Subject: Movie [Labyrinth]Lines: by
Flats: by
I took a print out of the lines and used that to do my base color work by hand and then scanned it back in. Using Paint.net software I edited down the flats to a single frame, removed the background color, and made the spiral backdrop. I then added my work on top of the spiral and lined up the green globes. Then I added a third layer of my work but inverted it and removed everything but the goblins so that the labyrinth in his coat and the spiral above her head gave the illusion of perpetual chaos an motion yet never reaching the goal. I added the scan of an old file folder as a back ground and then added my skull tag and and a tag for and also.

Thank you, I appreciate that very much! I watched that movie when it came out and didn't care for it but went back when I was older and re-watched it and found that I really liked it. I hope your kids enjoyed it though!

Great work - very interesting lines added to be effective colours. The subtle shades reminded me a little of Barry Windsor-Smith's colour work.

Hehe, well when the normal conversational wheelhouse of words fails to get one's emotions or point across swearing or abbreviated versions of said swear words tends to solve that problem. If you doubt me watch the movie Boondock Saints. The F-word is used as a noun, a pronoun, an adjective, a verb, an adverb, and a conjunction all in one sentence!

I appreciate that! Heck 70 hours a week is reason enough for not doing the battle. For that matter how are you awake to post this after a 70 hour week?! I'm medically retired now but I used to put in 40+ hour weeks at a factory and there were days that it was all I could do to stay awake at the table or during TV time!

70 hour work week and a kid! Damn you deserve a medal, a weeks payed vacation, a sitter for that week, and someone to carry you around so you can eek out every bit of rest you can!

Thanks man I will be back, I actually have two kiddos but the little one is 4 so we color and play dinosaurs no traveling yet with him. Thats next year LOL. Rest thats coming just gotta get stuff around work strait and it will be all good back to normal. so I can play again.

Well for you physical health, metal heath, and both the kiddos I hope things even out soon! Burning the candle at both ends and in the middle gets thing done for a bit but it also BURNS YOU OUT at the same time! I know from personal experience. Back when the wife and I first bought the house we are in now I was still working a 40+ work week and coming home to remodel our "new" [10 year old house] to our taste. Then add some additional overtime here and there to pay for all of the parts and extra costs that we ran into.
