Is there going to be an official Pinguy 12.10? I didn't think it was happening? I went lurking through the Pinguy Forums yesterday looking to see what was happening with 12.10.

To be honest, I'm not sure 100% but I'm (was?) hoping it'll happen - I was gunning for it mainly because it comes preinstalled with all the shit I'd have separately installed anyway. It saves me time, plus is mostly preconfigured right
But yeah, like you mentioned, there's no info yet... so I'm moving on.

Danggit, I just downloaded the regular Ubuntu and installed it. Typing from 12.10 atm, and Unity is horrible horrible... where have they hidden 'Additional Drivers'? I can't find it.. it's not there in 'Display Properties' either

Thanks for the link, Installed the recommended nVidia driver and it buggered Unity which now detects the display as a 'laptop' and offers a max of 1280x768
What's even worse, neither the launcher nor the menubar are visible

I'm now installing all my apps.. I can't even remember everything, plus I have to go about adding lots of PPAs. It'll be a couple of days until I finish finalizing it the way I want it

Have you gone into Dconf and changed the window layout??? Ubuntu Tweak or if you are using GS, Tweak Tool helps with that too.

The look is good but the theme has many shortcomings, such as lack of separator color, see moviz, and i suggest to add this to gtkrc... 👍: 0 ⏩: 4

yes depends by the gtkrc of theme, gnome add it by default to all windows, this is not a good idea.
