I read your whole explanation to KorNaXon of what happened behind this moment,
and I FRIKKIN' love it!
So many people either tend to forget it or just don't bring it up enough, but
Gen was (with Angeal) the only close friend of Seph, and their story really is
beautiful yet tragic.
And even though we couldn't see much of their background together,
we still know that there was a really deep friendship.
And this picture really brings up that emotion! You said that it was based on RP,
but oh please, PLEASE make a fanfic or perhaps more fanart, yesyes?? ^^

And really deep. Even though the game didn't show us
much flashbacks of their golden days, we actually still get
plenty proofs of their deep affection towards each other.
If one only takes a really close look at the game and
concentrates on details, one can find a lot about them!
And I mean, a lot.
I could rant about them for hours (in a good way. And I have,
many times...) but I'm trying to shorten this xD
But simply said, the game constantly shows you how deep
their relationship is, at least whenever Sephiroth is shown.
