Description On the 3rd of October this year Space Precinct will be 20 years old. I have vague memories of watching it as a kid back when I was 4, the Theme tune and the absolutely kick-ass Police Cruisers in particular made a really big Β impression on me.

If you ask around on fan forums and things, people will often say Space Precinct was a failure, it is also very hard to get hold of. Luckily Ive been able to watch a few episodes with a friend and have found it to be very entertaining.

Admittedly it does have flaws, the show really doesn't know what tone its aiming for, the sets can look a bit off and occasionally the writing is a little uninspired, however this is offset with really faced paced story telling, great characters and brilliant special effects.

Interestingly, as the people who watched the show are staring to grow up the series is making a resurgence, there was the excellent Space Precinct Legacy documentary, the show is now available on DVD in the U.S and there was quite a big presence at the latest convention (Andercon).

In short, check it out if you can and keep an open mind.

Now Terrahawks is making a comeback on audio with Big finish my hopes are high that one day Space Precinct (or a Revamped Space Police) may get the same treatment.

A huge thanks to Richard James, who played Officer Orrin and other aliens on the show ( most recognisable as the vampire in Predator and Prey), for posing for this picture and Andrew Clements for being our criminal. It's great not having to do my own modelling.

That is one awesome police car going through there. Wonderful pic.
The people look awesome too and are quite nicely worked into the pic (Andrew kind of looks a bit like Jontron in this pic. I thought my fave youtube reviewer was being taken in for a minute there)

And I spotted the Weyland-Yutani logo in the background.

I *think* that's a compliment, Emily :S

Nice work, Chris, you've definitely nailed the shape of the cruisers this time around, captured their speed nicely too

Like most BBC-produced scifi it was crippled out of the gate by a laughable budget and excruciating special effects. Seems that the drama department realised some time in the 70s that you can't get away with shooting a period drama in front of a plywood set that looks like a high school play, but sadly the same is not true of things not written by Jane Austen.
