This is the complete illustration I recently did for Astrovitae magazine. This is part of an update revolving around my book, as well as some early planning for future projects of mine going forward.

This painting is part of the more ell known era of yaetuan history, from 4,000 years ago roughly to the present day. In this scene, about 3,200 years ago, the nations of the planet were racing to not only evacuate hundreds of millions off the planet, but also to stay behind and reverse the adverse climate change that has begun to cripple their world. . In space above the planet, enormous, miles-long generation ships were in orbit. Constructed in the outer regions of the solar system over several decades, these spaceships at the time of this painting were beginning to house their passengers.

These ships, called Titanic Engines, would dart off at light speed to select exoplanets, which would later be colonized and terraformed. Planetside, above the smog and smoke blanketing much of the cities, are several smaller shuttles which would in phases transport yaetuan people and supplies to the engine. As the world and its smaller colonies on the moons and sister planets stayed behind to save the world's biosphere, these one-way generation ships would help to ensure the survival of the yaetuan race, in the event that the homeworld became unsalvageable.
