Description
Dumping the rest of my recent commissions. Bats is a bit stiff. You'd think after almost three decades of drawing the human form, I'd have the hang of it by now, but you'd be wrong. Sigh.Marker, white paint, color pencil on bristol

I've always been a fan of the oval bat symbol, probably because growing up the first thing I saw of Batman was the 60's show and/or the 1989 Film.
As an Adult I kind of Imagined Batman & Robin like this, sort of in exaggerated reality with B&W Noir detective's in capes and masks.
Don't be critical on your of drawing the human form, I think it looks fantastic.
In real life the human form isnt exact either, it's a genetic evolutionary sketch of imperfection, even if it's having dimples which are actually a facial muscle deformity that's genetically inherited, but often seen as a desirable trait.

Batman's natural stiffness perfectly offsets Robin's graceful acrobatic nature.
Incredible anatomy, expressions, and sense of the era.
Masterfully done.

Isn't Batman always a bit stiff? I mean with all that latex and that deep voice he talks with. I can't image a stiffer superhero

I know the reason you're so good is because you're so hard on yourself. But brother, hit or miss, you're an incredible artist w/ talent and tech skills galore! Go have a few beers and send me the tab, you deserve it!

Hehe, thanks, mate. Though I can't consider myself an incredible artist, I do agree that if I wasn't so hard on myself, I'd be a crappier artist than I am right now LOL. The bill came to $500 BTW

Grat work! Really like the bottom-up lighting in this one. Looks like a cover from the 50's pulpy days, which is very cool.

Stocky Batman, but Robin's spot on--hell, Robin's cape makes the piece for me.
