Description
Have some art.I hate picking titles sometimes.
The background and setting were inspired by some of the scenery I came across when I went geocaching a while back. There was a rather fast moving river, and some neat rocks with easily visible strata. I'm quite happy with how those trees turned out as well.
The color scheme was a lot of fun, too. I spent more time on this color scheme than several of the others that I've made lately.
I'll probably follow this up with some quicker speedpaints.
I may re-upload this in a minute if DA's viewer over-saturates my image, or if I find details that need to be fixed.

Thank you very much.
This site has some really excellent artists. I'm doing my best to improve and learn from the art I see, but I think I still have some catching up to do.
I think I've made some good progress in the last year. [link] I'll do my best to continue that trend.

I spent quite a bit more time adding little details, like improving the trees in the top right corner, and trying to get the colors just right.

I really like the warm colors and the lightning, kinda creates a warm feelin g, too. very good job on the lighting around the fireplace and its reflection on the dragon, I also like the flowing water a lot. I'm trying to give advanced critique here but I kinda am at a loss of words very nice style.

Thank you.
Like most of the fancy pictures I've done recently, I started in grayscale, then added in colors later.
I'm glad to hear that it turned out well. I've fixed many little mistakes on this picture, so I'm much more satisfied with it now than I was when I uploaded it.

Perfectly lovely! I love the whole scene.
I think the fact that he's wearing sneakers is a neat touch... Who says Dragons only existed in medieval fantasy? haha
The cool color of the dragons eye against all the warms creates a lovely focal point, and the lighting is fabulous. I especially like the brightness of the fire.
Your artwork always gets so many comments... It's daunting, sometimes. xD
PS great job with the atmospheric perspective.

Thank you.
I always think Fantasy elements in modern-day settings are fun. Even a boring office can become interesting by adding an orc or two. Sometimes they are easier to relate to, as well.
I just made a minor retouch to the dragon's eye. It's still a focal point, and all colors are the same, I just improved the structure itself a bit. I always like eyes that stand out, so I always try to use contrasting colors for them. It tends to be a good way to draw attention to faces, too. I tried to use the triangular shapes made by the wings to frame the human a bit, too.
In my opinion, working in grayscale, and adding colors in later makes it much easier to keep track of bright and dark areas in the picture. It's been quite helpful for me, at least.
I always spend time to reply to comments and answer questions. I think that goes a long way toward fostering comment posts. Half of them are my replies.

Such Wonderful Artwork Chromamancer!
I failed to find any problem in the Art.
This Art has more clear and sharp edge at corners, but it gives smooth edge like mist when it need.
Eyes of Dragon is clear as ever, and Background is clear as the eyes of dragon.
I love detail and physics in water, it is fits very naturally.
Light effect was quite natural to me, although someone might think different.
Thanks for great Art again Chromamancer!

I'm glad to hear that the water turned out well. It's my first time drawing water that detailed, so I spent a lot of time on it. I just made a minor change to the dragon's eye. It should look even better now.
I'll always do my best to keep improving.
