This is dumb.
Yes, the model is pretty, but this isn't photography, it's a myspace picture. Christ, the camera quality isn't even that good.

Quote;
"As a little girl dressed in a Labatt beer T-shirt, Pamela Anderson was discovered when her image was transmitted on the stadium's wide screen at a British Columbia Lions football game. Fans fell in love with little Pam, and she was signed to a commercial contract with Labatt's and became the company's "Blue Zone" girl."
People were watching football in that stadium, so why was she put on telly, had nothing to do with footbal anyways, but, she managed to get rich because so many "fell in love with her".
Maybe this picture has nothing to do with art, it still made a lot of people "Fall in love" with her.
Now, with 6,135 pageviews at the time of me watching this, i can only say, lucky girl, a lot "fell in love with you". (yeahyeah, i'm just rubbing it in )
What i would advise is you (Chublybumkin (ehr what does this refer to, chubby bottom or ?? pls explain )) getting aknowledged with one of the better photographers around your neighborhood, and get a co-op' working, if people like this picture already so much you hit the frontpage, why don't you make work from it, or at least try.
Good luck
Ow, my personal view/opinion on this pic;
Imo, you tried to hard, makes it a bit hmm, how do i say, to regulare, exposing some (as someone mentioned) Ehum,.. "Cleavage" makes it a bit hard to look at what your trying to express, my eyes keep flikking to your face and back to the cleavage, very anoying. I would say, more face less/no cleavage, or only cleavage less/no face (yes, that will make a different pose). Work some more on the makeup, because you tried so hard squeezing, ehr, winking your left eye, the makeup is all "messed" on your right eye. Looking at your right eyes pupil, i think your expressions look ay better with more open eyes, i'm gonna check up on more pics of you to see if i can find some with "Open eyes".
Take care
You do have nice white teeth btw, .

okay
really
this is not photography
it has NO artistic merit. it's just a pretty teenage girl taking a picture of herself?
deviantart really has gone to shit if you people think this is worth 5,000 views of attention

i'm not boring, i just think it's pointless for something like this to get so much attention when there's better artists that deserve to get noticed, but people like this throw them out of the way because they're "cute".
it's repulsing.

I get your point! I work my ass off trying to be creative and do something artistic. Unfortunately I'm not cute so I don't get 5000+ views. I should start posing nude or something.

...I'm not sure what made me laugh more. The cute expression of the reams of pretentious comments about why this should be where it is. I kinda stumbled upon this simple, you're very cute though!

I thought DA was a site where talented artists should show their work in order to be critizied so they could get better.
Pictures like yours just belong to facebook, myspace or twitter but it is certainly not worth 185 favs.
It makes me sad because lots of beautiful drawings are ignored.
This is nothing against you personally and I'm not a hater who envies you.

Mmkay, so I do agree with some of the other people out there, commenting on this; this is more of a myspace shot rather than something to post on dA.
However, I really like the expression and some areas of the lighting. I would very much like to draw this for practise, would that be okay? You can see it after if you'd like. c:

Amazing.
The model has clearly depicted herself in this way as a statement to society and our preconceived perception of 'art'. The model's direct eye contact draws our attention into the image. Her facial expression is the main aspect of the image which clearly signifies the underlying statement which questions the current hype of art and what we perceive it to be. But what makes this photograph even more so brilliant, is the deeper layers of symbolism towards the state of modern society. The make-up is a symbol of the facade we all apply to integrate ourselves into society to become what we have come to accept as 'normal'. Artificial lighting is utilized in such a way to reinforce the idea of this facade. Lighting is used to create a warm and intimate atmosphere, albeit unnatural, in contrast to the deeper aspects of societal pressure which pushes us to wear this facade, and in the very opposite, actually alienates us from ourselves and one another. Text is used in a way not only to draw attention back to the model (thus keeping our attention on the image for longer), but to depict the one thing all people in this media driven society long for... Fame. Our fear of isolation and loneliness in a world where people are interconnected through technology, drives us in such ways to demand attention amongst others we would never meet nor talk to in our lives.
Do not be mistaken by the artist's/model's superficial depiction of this photo, as ironically that is what she has intended. To look pass the superficial, to pick upon these layers of this photograph, only then, can we fully realize the extent to which the artist/model has portrayed herself to purposefully depict the many issues which haunt the modern 'artist' and the world in which we are pressured to be a part of.
