this is all very well done... I'm personally not familiar with the walking dead, but even I appreciate the effort put into this!

Yeah, absolutely! I see these and am just awed. You've captured the essence of the original series perfectly and given it this almost innocent, but tongue-in-cheek at the time, approach. I love it. I could probably go on forever. They looks super fun to draw too!

Are these going to be released anywhere? In print or as a webcomic?

Thank you!

I haven't determined a place to post these other than here.  I thought of posting it piece by piece on Twitter but I'm not sure if that will work.  There's no plans to release this anywhere, though.

You're welcome.

Well, you just keep posting them and I'll keep finding them!!
The Twitter idea is interesting, but Twitter is so finicky, it might be hard to do it the way you intend? Never hurts to try though, I'm sure it would work for you. Go for it!

Thanks!  I love Stan Sakai's work, as well as Sergio Aragones.  Cartoonist masters.

Stan has a firm grasp of putting the most story into the minimal needed panels of pages. Oddly enough, despite not being a manga-style artist, he has accomplished the manga principle of shorthand style, functional background, and show-don't tell storytelling.

Neither would I, if it wasn't for the fact that I was recently reading a webcomic that hides it everywhere. (Brawl in the Family, in case you are wondering).

Question: what kind of policeman uses assault rifles? Just saying.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

cluedog In reply to Saklad [2014-04-11 23:55:30 +0000 UTC]

The characters here are purposely over the top, but weapons of such nature are not unheard of in American police forces.  For example: abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?sec…

The lines between the military and the police forces in this country have been increasingly blurring, it seems.

Saklad In reply to cluedog [2014-04-12 00:23:05 +0000 UTC]

Interesting. I think the problem is that whenever anyone tries to enforce gun laws, a bunch of idiots try to frame it as breaking the 2nd amendment.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

tirusr In reply to Saklad [2014-04-12 16:50:53 +0000 UTC]

I've done some research and gun violence problems are more cultural then legal. Enforcing guns laws or creating new ones won't necessarily do anything by itself.

Also, Assault rifles constitute such a small amount of gun violence it's laughable to try and restrict them. Pistols are the real danger.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Saklad In reply to tirusr [2014-04-12 18:46:54 +0000 UTC]

While that is true, it is still worthwhile to restrict the sale of a weapon that really can only be used to kill someone else. After all, it is called an ASSAULT rifle. What would be the most effective is better background checks and less loopholes, but the NRA won't let that happen anytime soon (not that they are okay with assault rifle laws either).

tirusr In reply to Saklad [2014-04-12 20:44:17 +0000 UTC]

I cannot even find accurate death totals for assualt rifles because they number is so small it gets lump into the total with all rifles. While I agree with the concept of banning assault rifles, it's not practical way to decrease gun violence in a meaningful way.

Things that could create a greater impact. Restrictions or Bans for..

Small pistols
Concealed Carry

If you don't believe me just look at the statistics.
www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/…

In my home state of California, which has assault rifles are banned, there was 1,304 (out of 1,879 murders). 899 of these were with Pistols. only 38 were done with rifles.

To compare... Texas, which not only does not restrict assault weapons but allows open carry of such arms, had 745 firearm related murders (out of 1141 total) with 493 by pistol and 28 by rifles.

Saklad In reply to tirusr [2014-04-13 01:06:33 +0000 UTC]

I live in Texas, coincidentally. I could have sworn assault rifles were federally banned. Anyway, regardless of the size of effect, there is still more reason to ban such weapons than not to.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

tirusr In reply to Saklad [2014-04-13 03:12:26 +0000 UTC]

Weapon bans have not shown to have a correlative effect on violence. In actuality, most guns bans create an increase in violence.

Now, that is not to say it's not possible. Japan and Australia both have very strict gun laws and low homicide rates.

However, New Zealand has almost none in comparison and a similarly low homicide rate. It's not the guns. It's not the gun laws. It's the culture.

On the plus side. We are on a 20 year downward trend on violent crimes.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Saklad In reply to tirusr [2014-04-13 11:26:16 +0000 UTC]

The CDC conducted a double blind study that showed that gun owners were not as safe as others in the same neighborhood. While culture is a part of the problem, it is an infinitesimal part.
