So anyway,

I have been sort of interested in trying artfight for a couple years now but so far the stars have not been aligned. My current goal is to start updating all character refs and see what I can get done before it actually starts, so that if I'm able to participate this year I have at least something current and not 500-year-old sheets to enter. To start with here is Second Iteration! Probably one of my easiest characters to draw hahaha.

I also decided that I am going to leave off most of the flavor text on the new refs and just leave them mostly notes related to drawing details (ie "Eye/Pupil can rotate all over the place.") The flavor text is interesting but honestly for me, I am constantly adjusting worldbuilding/character details so a lot of that stuff gets outdated almost as soon as it's on there. On the plus side it means I should be able to finish these faster than previous refs, since I'm not worrying about how much text I can fit and what to say. To make up for it I will put a little bit about the characters in the descriptions, and if it happens to get outdated later I can just come and edit it instead of the picture.

BY THE WAY...! Unrelated, I am going to try to post more sketches and stuff on twitter (twitter.com/Arborpunk ) and see how Pillowfort (pillowfort.io/Arborpunk ) goes too.

Some Stuff about Second Iteration:

They are a specialized demon that feeds off of psychic energy, especially dream energy and nightmares. They pick someone to latch onto for a while, assuming an intangible form, but can peel off and become a tangible beast, particularly useful for escape or just roaming around to look for someone new. They will try to stick to a host they like as much as they can but if they put up way too much of a fuss, they will just go find someone else. They regularly peer into dreams but are somewhat aloof about haunting them ~ in the first stages of their life they did not have a real form at all, but gradually built one out of components they found in dreams and liked enough to incorporate. Second Iteration has zero depth perception, is keenly aware of that fact, and deeply, deeply regrets choosing a form with only one eye. They can speak and have a sense of humor, but they are not a particularly great conversationalist, preferring instead to forego talking and just "be scary." Which, hey, they can be pretty good at.

While they have latched on and tormented several other characters in the past, they are currently in 'roaming' mode. Second Iteration is also good friends with Amareth.
