I don't see it. Maybe too many houses? Nice job on the 'Hinamizawa' pics though! Wish I could visit there.

Ah, I guess you're thinking of the place in teh Anime, which is actually more like #5 I think:

This was the shot that was used in the VN version of Onikakushi-hen. If you look at hte map you'll see there's only about 20m difference between the two places.

Yup, much more recognizable. Did that place feel as eerie as it looks?
Unfortunately the anime is my only real experience w/ Higurashi. Too bad there was never an English version of the PS2 remake.
By the way, thank everyone on the WIND project for me. I'm not much into anime, but Higurashi has been really more like an 'experience' than a show. If it wasn't for the WIND subs, I probably would never have gotten so far into it. Can't wait for more 'Rei'.

It's strangely peaceful... at least during the evening.
During the day there are busloads of tourists from 0900 to 1700. During those times it can get a little crowded.
Outside of these hours though, it's dead quiet, and that's really cool.
I think Wingless (one of our old TLs) put it best: "It feels familiar". Not spooky, not really all that eerie, but familiar.
I could easily go back there again and again and jsut sit on teh bank of the Shou River, watchign the tourists flow over teh Deai bridge...
