Description yes, simple ... but not in the same vain as "simple green," the cleaning solution found in some u.s. households.

there's a reason i love "amelie" so much. not the way it was shot -- except i love the way it was shot. not the fact it was subtitled for those of us who don't speak french.

it was the way she saw the world. she saw all of the details.

beautiful details.

the smell of fruit.

the sights.

the sounds.

the everything.

there's just so much ... so much, in fact, i don't think ...

we can ever see everything.

j and i were sitting having coffee in our suburban paradise ...

and while many would see the hummer.

the bitch with fake tits on her mobile talking shit about her "supposed-best-friend" to her other "supposed-best-friend" ...

dressing like her daughter ...

secretly hoping to catch the eye of her daughter's male friends.

we preferred to watch the simple sparrow.

whilst waiting for the urban terrorist vehicle to get her bi-monthly flush of motul synthetic.

the simple sparrow waiting hopefully for the crumb.

and this time a crumb and a photo.

leica mp. some voigtlander 50mm lens from gandy. the f/stop was somewhere 'round f/5.6 at 1/250th. ilford delta 400. normal.

So simplistic in its beauty!

I love the way you captured the sparrow, specifically that the little bird isn't centered and, in fact ,the direction the bird is staring is the majority of the picture.

This one deserves at least another .

I love watching those little guys, the way they hop and puff up. The light and shadows in this are very nice - I can imagine the sun sparkling through the leaves in a nice spring breeze. And I love how the bird's shadow is shaped... Great capture!

Oh, and "was it the city or the pigeon. the chicken or the egg." ...no clue here either, but it made for a laugh!

Nothing simple about sparrows... the ones who live in a bush in our garden have learned how to get bits of nut out of the bird-feeders, even though their build shouldn't really allow them to get hold of the nut with their beak, let alone perch on the feeder... and people say that evolution is just a theory?

it's a sparrow ...

but i still like it!!

i really like those spots of light beside it for some reason ...

maybe my favorite element in the photo.

the bird's eyes lead you to leaf that somehow looks like it was about to touch the ground at the time you captured this frame.. was it really in the air still at that moment?

sometimes I read your coments and see your captures and think I'm glad I grew up in a random Island, that I live in a nowhere town, that I'm loved by a spectacular regular man, sometimes simplicity is just what you need to ground you..

Sparrows are underestimated creatures, they don't get noticed as often as one would notice a brightly coloured parrot and yet they're as if not even more interesting than them. They're simple, so to say, and that's what makes them beautiful.

I really like this shot, the little sparrow in the middle of all the buzz I can imagine waiting for a crumb or two. I love how she's kind of avoiding that ray of light, the spotlight, keeping to herself and yet being there. And I like the leaves, how they detail the shot.

This'd be one of my favourites in your gallery. In all its simplicity, in its amΓ©lie-ness. It's lovely. Hope you had a nice coffee time there.

Its a beautiful concept. Just the simplicity of what you photographed compared to the apparent drama around. Such simple wishes. Thank you.

Super drop of light and exposure! ...That levitating leaf, though, is quite seriously competing with the sparrow as star of the shot! Great combo with the words, impressive link up there. Nice one.

that movie is awesome... seems to be in a different world, but actually it's our world, if only we took notice of all the small details and feelings and emotions and ...

similar to the reason why i like your photos, they show the "normal" life in a different perspective.

thanks for sharing.

I like to think I view the world in this way too. If you hadn't mentioned what was going on around this small scene at the same time then the effect wouldn't have been the same. I think it's even more interesting that despite all the other things going on and the distractions around you, it is this bird which has been immortalised in your photograph. I love the spots of light on the floor too.

The world is as we see it... ultimately and for all practical purposes...imho.

Every day I see so many stunning photos on DA, but its always the simple ones that I sit and look at for ages. Theres something very grounding about how such simple things can be so beautiful. Makes me stop worrying about bigger stuff that I cant controll and start apreciating the little things.
