I do this all the time because I like to draw and ink by hand... so after seeing how nicely this image is looking I made this Tutorial. Plus it's not one of my professional works so, I can distribute this freely without worrying about it. Sorry about my spelling... I made this rather fast and I can't spell without spell check... I'm sure the idea gets through though...had suggested that I should make a tutorial sometime so! Here it is! I hope it helps. Making sure the levels are correct in any picture is really important, I've worked professionally in photography and currently in print and this is a common step that is often forgotten, so even if you aren't using the tutorial verbatim, there's some good information..

I'm glad you like it. I love working in traditional media but it's not always so great when converting it to a print format via digital media, so I'm always looking for better ways to filter my images to make them look just as sharp, attractive, and vibrant as digital images.
I feel like the most useful information there is how to adjust line art to get white-white and black-black. I felt that there were lots of artists out there that had some beautiful artwork but the photography of the piece or the scan of it just wasn't optimized enough to show just how impressive their work really was.
Your work is excellent by the way and is rendered in digital format very well.

Thank you. I hardly adjusted my color images after they were scanned into digital format. I always trust my white-CCD scanner. Only black and white pictures need some adjustment.

That's cool. My Scanner sucks because it was cheap (but A3 size!) I never trust the scan dialog and only level in Photoshop... It is pretty good with color (although the whites are always grey and I never like the contrast) but with black and white I'm really picky especially when I ink with micron pens and they get a bit erased when I'm taking out the pencils...

Thanks! I've been playing the original game like a mad woman... I got mad at the art in the instruction manual since Henry is so awesome and decided to give it a go...

I've never read any of the medabots comics.. I think I tried to find some at one point but finding them outside of Japan is damned-near impossible.

I hear that. I was only able to get 2 graphic novels, but they're about Ikki and Metabee. And around then was when they stopped being made in America I think. You can get them all in Europe and Austalia, and of course Japan. But that's it

You know, when they released Pokemon in America they had the game too. I never heard of the Medabots games coming out here, I wonder if it would have made a difference in Medabots last-ability... I mean, it only ever got mildly popular and then just disappeared... :sigh:

Actually, they released 3 games in Norht America. Two Gameboy games, and one on Game Cube. Unfortunetly they're hard to find, even in second hand shops. I've only ran into the Gamecube one twice. And I havent seen the gameboy ones except on ebay.
You can download the gameboy ones now as ROMS. But it's hard! In the Metabee game you're first boss is Sloan and he kills you with in a few rounds.
Somebody has to go to Japan for a Medabots hunting trip to find books, toys etc.

I found my game on E-Bay but it's still hard to find them there..
I'm not to keen on ROMs anymore... There's nothing like playing it on the real system, even for official ROMs...

Urgh... now I wanna do research.... I know it has something to do with weird ball-like robots and I think the game is on DS ... but it weirds me out like digimon that digivolve with humans...

Ball-like robots? That does sound weird. Not very Medaboty. And if it turned out like THAT digimon series(the one were humans turn into digimon) we'd be doomed. I'd rather have a series about Hikaru again.

Well, from what I have found on the net, there was a movie/OVA all about how he became the Phantom renegade and such. But it was band from the US because of Violence. Which is very stupid in my opinion. So it should be on DVD in japan. Lets hope a company will bring it on DVD here in the future.
