stroll through the kitchen
open the door feel the breeze freeze my flesh
walk upon the snow barefoot as my cuts stain the virgin ice and my pale skin burns
fog fills the air as i fall to the blanket of slowly melting winter bliss
tears fall
crimson is my blood
my pink lips slowly kiss my wrists as they go numb
my nightgown drapes over my legs tickling me as it blows in the wind
bruised are my veins
i let my arms rest as the knife drops to the ground as i watch the puddle of red fill in all around me
closed my watery eyes
and waited for the sun to shine
waited for the rainbow
took a look at my mutilated body as i curled
sat in silence until my heart gave in
gone at last are the days in the shadows
