i rise above the darknessi rise above the pain
how happiness finds me everyday
though i'm plagued with hate
always seems to baffle my troubled mind
the tears fall like rain
though the smiles grace my face
everyday i'm chained to my own misery
in my own depression i sit and wait
laughing on the exterior
crumbling on the inside
once swimming in a pool of possibilities
now drowning in your standards
i seem to rise above the darkness
i seem to rise above the pain
don't take what you see to heart
looks can be decieving.

thats awesome. i know how that feels. a lot of people carry everything on the inside, though all they really want to do it curl into themselves and be obessessed with their own misery. its the people that rise above that that i really admire.

Wow, very nice. I can relate (not directly, I have a friend who seems this way). The poem was very well written, right to the point, no beating around the bush. Nice job. (I would comment that I would enjoy it greatly if you capitalized the 'i's and on the fourth line changed it to plagued, instead of plaqued. LOL)
