your life is cement,
and your memories are the cracks,
though from a distance,
the cracks show a sign of aging,
if examined properly,
every crack tells a story,
a story of a child, a mother, a wife, a friend and grandmother,
stories that will never grow old,
to others your cracks may seem dirty and raw,
but to the ones who truly know and love you,
your cracks are your badge of glory,
your coat of arms,
to strangers they are all the same,
but to us, each have their own meaning,
and tell us who you are,
to us, you are not a block full of scars,
you are beautiful, beyond the top layer,
and that's my point,
it matters what you see within,
not what your first judgement might have been.
