The only thing that I like about Spongebob is that he makes those burgers (Crusty-burgers think they are called?) + Mr. Crabs seems to be a well made character.
Other are trash - like Sandy, Patrick, Plankton, the dolphin (Mr. Crabs daughter), Thadeus and othersΒ (sry, if anyone likes them. Just saying my opinion, not flaming

I heard about this. When Spongebob first came out, it was the center of children's attention. It was what kids wanted, something goofy and stupid. And it just PUSHED Invader Zim away. When I heard about it, I got VERY mad. And stopped watching Spongebob. Y U TAEK OFF INVADER ZIM NICK Y

Now, now. Zim got taken off the air for different reasons. I don't hate Spongebob, but I can sum up my & several (not all) people's feelings on Spongebob:
When Spongebob came out, it was amazing. The first 1-3 (and first half of season 4) seasons were AMAZING! They were some of the best written episodes of the cartoons on Nick. However, Post-Spongebob Squarepants Movie is when the quality of the episodes began to decline until it just got bad. Sure one way to look at it is that Invader Zim getting cancelled stopped it from getting bad. However, based on the info we know of the series, IZ would have ended with Jhonen's plan at around 41-52 episodes (rare to get that many episodes nowadays). IZ's plot would have ended with Zim & Gaz defeating Dib & Tak & both Zim & Gaz either destroying earth, or Zim & Gaz ruling Irk, & taking over Earth as well. I am an avid IZ fan & use to be a Spongebob fan as well. Now, I don't hate Sponge, but I am indifferent.
