The sponsors buttons seem a bit overdone with the glow, maybe a bit less brightness on the inner glow. As for the "Events" and "Sponsors" title bars on the right, the three verticle bars seem a bit out of place, maybe too bold, but then I'm probably just nitpicking

I think it's nice, maybe just a bit short (news section could be taller), but it flows well. Keep up the good work

not a good style for quake, quake is a darker war game, which should be represented in the style of the site. It definantly dosn't have a quake feel to it, however it would be much better for a portfolio site or anything non-gaming related.

Certainly not the composition - that's dead on. I don't know about the grunge style mentioned above - people are so used to seeing this in game sites that a clean design is actually a refreshing change, believe it or not! If I were you, I would play with the background color and remove the blur from the boxes (down, right). Purple and fuzziness give the page a somewhat feminine look that's definately out of character.
I must say however that I am astonished by the professional quality and clean designs of your work. The more I see, the more I become a fan.

imo, the colour needs to darker and a lil bit "dirty"

I know whats wrong, the buttons, they look out of place. Maybe if you put a bit of inner shadow in them it will look like the are attached to the background below a bit. Then when ya hover over them, make the inside glow a different colour or something.

Also do the same for the subheadings on the right.

The background doesnt look right, it looks to plain and thats why the banner looks a bit strange (even tho it is a nice banner). Maybe if you used a darker, star field or some sort of plasma type background it might compliment the banner a bit more.

I don't think there's something wrong with the layout.. then again, i'm not good at pointing mistakes in layouts. I like the sponsor's frames, tha glow effect is interesting. And it draws attention to them, which is what they want.
