Description
In my early years of studying graphic design, I took this notebook everywhere. I was young and broke, unable to afford even the books and magazines that I read for tutorials. I went through a phase where I copied everything I could find relating to graphic art: step-by-steps, layouts, concepts⦠anything I could take home and use as a reference when working on my big clunky primitive computer. Eventually I got a laptop, but I like to keep this journal as a reminder of the passion I had, and always try to maintain. Many of the tribal sketches shown here were eventually scanned and refined in Illustrator: [link]

Excellent journal. You should check out [link] - they put on some really interesting sketchbook shows in Brooklyn. used to be in Atlanta, but moved on up the ladder - now they've gone international. They're interesting in general for what they're doing - getting everyone involved in making. No judgments, no juries.

Your passion shows. Even after seeing only the geek wallpaper and the introduction of yourself on your main page I could tell you have talent. Then I looked at your gallery, which proved to me that my guess was spot on. You, my friend, have mad game!
Much respect and admiration.

Love that kind of passion.
As a young broke artist in NYC, I would work on found cardboard, and sometimes use mustard and red wind for color.
Funny, how we always had money for cheap wine 'tho.

That looks like one of those old ship logs, only with tribals in it. It's awesome man, treasure it!
