Description
Our own mind; it's a place we can escape to, but we can never escape from. It's the ultimate prison.She sits here and thinks as she plays with her hair, not realising as she twists it round her fingers she's creating her own cage, physically and mentally.
Wanted to design something interesting with the framing and composition, and went with the narrow colour scheme to try and reflect her internal feelings.
I'm trying to worry less, and was thinking about worrying less, then I realised I was worrying about worrying less! Made myself smile XD
The mind is such an intriguing thing, how no one else can read our thoughts, but they influence everything we do. We can imagine whats it's like to be someone else, but never really feel it, we will always be within our own heads, looking out...

In our own minds, we think we are free, but are often, maybe even usually, victims of limits we place on ourselves....One can escape these, I think, somewhat, by making ourselves more aware of our value as humans, and our eternal potential...I know this isn't exactly what you meant, but it branches off it--this work led me to think this way.
I love the color palette you chose, the cool colors...and the jewel and her eyes, as others commented about. [I briefly thought she was sitting in front of a television screen, because of the colors...] Lots of emotion/thoughtfulness in her eyes...you are really good at that, too!

You get better and better each time you pst. You should proud of that!! You say that the mind is such a wonderful thing--have you looked at your gallery from an outsider's view?? Some of your things you post are fragments of what your heart feels and others are the capability of your soul put on a paper. The mind is such a beautiful thing if you make it be

You know there's something weird going on here a lot of your pictures recently the last 10 or so have been representing and summing up my thoughts and feelings at that point i just thought it was coincidence but it's starting to be really in sync weird no?
I love the concept of this it's so true what you say i've been thinking of this quite a lot of the last few months i suppose if i am imprisoned i still guna find away to push those bars back or find ways of operating outside those bars to make a freer life than what the bars want.
ANYWAY!
The concept is great well done loving all your ideas and philosophies keep going with it it's so great to see! What i love about the idea is you've not gone for the cliche' of bars in the mind and being aware of them. The colours in this are great once again you've nailed bright blinding colour with a very dark pastel colour mix it works soo well and i find very few pull it off well. The face seems so real the way the body fills the picture and yet it still looks like a body even with parts missing you still get the feeling there is more to see. The colour of the eyes works well it's not sort of another pair of different colour eyes just thrown in there to say oh that's cool the colour works with the rest of the picture the shade of it is spot on plus it matches the necklace. It's not in your face is what i'm trying to say which i feel a lot of artists don't quite seem to achieve or they make it too subtle. The detail of the hair in the light fantastic! Using the arm and foreground to create the wall of "bars" brilliant! Once again at the risk of sounding perverted decent clothing for the breast and they aren't anime lets devour the world breasts. The hair once again spot on.
Everything i've said about about it being spot on nailed or fantastic etc.. i feel you worked on and got to what you wanted to achieve WELL DONE TO YOU!!
The only things i can say that don't sit quite right with me are the fingers next to the hair the hand thumb and index finger spot on! The middle ring and pinky fingers are shaped well and they are getting the right amount of light but i just feel they need a touch of detail i think a bit of shading to give definition to the fact they are fingers cause even in light there is some sort of definition even in bright light this is easily fixed or done and i know you can do it cause i've seen it in ya pictures. I feel this happens in a lot of your pictures so aybe something to work on is the arm behind things from the shoulder down to the elbow is good much improvement for the most part just the forearm that lil bit you have there tells my eyes it's facing me so the shouldwer would be raised to make this movement happen which it isn't in the picture. Maybe it's the angle of shading i'm not sure it just doesn't feel right.
Overall fantastic picture you can see all your strengths in it very few of your weaknesses it's another picture that shows your unique style very well i feel the next thing is how can you push this style and explore it further. I shall be buying this peice for my wall! Cya at EXPO can't wait!!!

I love this piece, and it's very aptly drawn and described for my life right now. I'm going through a rough, bad time in life right now and am having to cope with a lot. I know life isn't always great and everyone goes through problems, but at the time, everyone must admit that their own problems feel like the worst thing that could ever happen in life. Mine feel like that, and my soft nature won't let me get away from that. I'm too afraid to stand up for myself because of not only my unstable friend group, but because I'm afraid I'll hurt others. Even though, they're the ones hurting me. At the moment, my mind is definitely keeping me tightly locked up in its prison and won't rid away of that black hole sitting right besides me in my mind. All those conflicting thoughts of the past, the present, the future and the ifs and buts never leave me. Anyway, sorry to load that off onto you! I've probably really dampened your day!~ As always, you create such lovely, inspiring and meaningful art! This really put a smile on my face today, which, after the day I've had, is a pretty amazing feat. Thank you every so much for sharing your talent with the world.<3
