I wondered the same thing myself, then came to a conclusion I think works best.
You see, you're absolutely correct. There is no way on Earth we could do that, which is exactly why I propose we become Mars colonists first.
This way, we will no longer be on Earth and its physics and predictable logic will no longer interfere with our grand, ambitious, and slightly psychotic goals! Its genius! Or at least it's clever wordplay.

a few nights ago i had a dream of the opposite; that my left half and right half split into two smaller, weaker people, one controlled by each half of the brain.
seeing my right-brain run around and interact with things was interesting

the inspiration was obviously there.
the half controlling my right brain was more impulsive and poetic, the half controlling my left (which i acted from the perspective of) was cold (but not mean) and logical.
there were a few sword duels, which "i" fought alongside my right brain. but since we were smaller and weaker, i had to 2-hand a shield to defend him

Now that's a battle I would like to see. Two people running around with one designated defender holding a shield with two hands. How did that even work? You must have been either really fast or very communicative.
"Ok Right brain, are you ready?"
"I was born ready, lets do this."
*Swings sword*
"Oh fuck, I missed, COVER ME LEFT BRAIN!"

*Stands in front of Right brain for 2.8 seconds while he recovers from his sword swing and regains his balance*

this is some percentage what i remember, and the rest what i can infer.
it worked because both people were smaller than normal (had 50% of the mass, therefore about 85% dimensions each way), therefore one circular shield of about 2 feet in diameter[1] means one hell of a lot more to someone shorter, thinner, and less deep.Β the left brain was the main tank in this respect, and the center of a group. they could probably support more than one "right brain" assuming each right brain was armed. fitting as there are far more rubies than sapphires.Β
i remember i moved slowly, focusing on moving my hands quickly to absorb any weapon strike with the shield. the right brain focused on quickly striking, then retreating behind *my* shield. no communication was needed

All joking aside that seems like a reasonable explanation, It seems like you functioned as a kind of mobile cover, something that your ally could duck behind when he wanted protection, as opposed to you jumping out and blocking the strikes.

thanks! i figured that acting as barely-mobile cover was a logical option. if any right brain had a spear or similar weapon, they could stab from behind it. humans do that with one in each hand, so it's not much of a stretch.

Fantage is a B-rate virtual world where you communicate with others. Essentially you click or use arrow keys to move around (without really "moving" if you catch my drift) and type stuff to talk. It's pretty much a game for kids aged 5-5.6 but I sometimes play it for the sheer enjoyment of messing with people. I suppose most people didn't know that pressing right and left repeatedly while jumping makes your character spazz like an Epileptic person in a disco. Also its fun to shout "ONEVONE ME IN CLUB PENQUINNE U SCRUBLORD!!" at people who are most likely too young to get it.
I enjoy myself tremendously sometimes.
