Description
The Walking Mushroom is commonly found in places of rot and decay. Although it mainly feeds off of the dead, it can just as easily feed off of the living. The Walking Mushroom has a mouth, but this is actually not its main means of attack. Its usual method of hurting players is passive: the spores it releases around it can attach to players and eat them alive (thereby draining their hearts). The Mushroom has a fair amount of health, but is relatively helpless in combat, however its spores drain the player of 1.5 hearts every turn the player is still attacking the Walking Mushroom. Once the Walking Mushroom is dead, or the player moves out if its spore field, the player will lose .5 hearts and then cease to take damage as the remaining spores clinging to them die off.Walking Mushrooms are formidable single opponents, and unless you have a good ranged weapon, DO NOT FIGHT MORE THAN A FEW AT A TIME. The 1.5 heart-drain effect stacks with each Walking Mushroom in proximity, so five of them at once will do a guaranteed 7.5 damage every turn (and then 2.5 damage after the battle) and be more than enough to kill a low-level player almost instantly.
