Description So Remember when I posted the Ether Soldier (darksack100.deviantart.com/art… ) and I was all like "Go to the comments for the description LOL". Well There is more to the whole Rift Demon story, so I've decided to post another Rift Demon picture and expand on exactly who these guys are.

(Some of the Stuff below contains things said in the Ether Soldier post. I just want to make sure I have it all in one place).

There are invaders of this universe called Rift Demons, which are creatures native to an inhospitable universe where everything is deadly. In order to survive their harsh environment, these beings have become hardy, and in turn, deadly themselves. Recently they have discovered other universes (namely this one) and are actively forcing themselves into this plane of existence. Rift Demons may have several reasons for trying to invade other dimensions, including a desire for territory, a fufillment of a religious quest, or a simple need to escape their horrible home dimension. Regardless of the reason, Rift Demons are attempting invasion and conquest of our universe with unnerving success. Rift Demons are not supposed to be here; they are anomalies and by all reasoning should never be able to cross the divide between their world and ours, but they do so anyway, literally forcing their way past the laws of the universe and destabilizing it in the process. Once here, Rift Demons begin a grisly process of killing everything they see. This horrible system has proven not to be out of simple bloodlust (for Rift Demons are actually quite intelligent). Instead Rift Demon's kill because it further disrupts the universe (after all, something isn't supposed to die to something that isn't supposed to exist) and inadvertantly allows more Rift Demons to break through and invade. Rift Demons are a threat not only because of their savage killing nature, but also because their very presence breaks down the universe, and enough distubance would destroy the spacial plane as we know it.
There are three known types of Rift Demons: Ether Soldiers, Beastials, and Undead.

On Ether Soldiers
Ether soldiers are a type of Rift Demon. Whereas most Rift Demons have monstrous abstract appearances, Ether soldiers have oddly humanoid ones. Ironically, Ether Soldiers seem even less lifelike than other Rift Demons (other Rift Demons have a high pain tolerance and savage bloodlust but still react to pain and can experience some level of nervousness, while Ethers just kill like biological killing machines). Ether soldiers seem to have to force their way into the universe more than other Rift Demons, and are such abnormalities that the universe still actively tries to force them out, causing them to act in unpredictable ways. Ether soldiers spaz and flicker in unnatural ways, sometimes even to the extreme (much like a game glitch i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/i… ). Ethers are hard to fight and even harder to predict; they can be half a mile away from a person and in the blink of an eye be next to them with a sword through said person's heart. Sometimes Ether soldiers don't even move; they just glitch to one area of space in an attack position, making them unable to be dodged. Ethers are very powerful and very unpredictable, but have only been encountered two or three times. It is safe to say this type of Rift Demon is very rare.

On Beastials
Beastials are the second most common form of Rift Demon, and are what many people thing of when they hear the term. Beastials are almost like the trademark creatures of the Rift Demons, and hordes of them may appear to decimate populations and wreak havoc. Beastial Rift Demons are the most varying class of Rift Demon, and can assume forms both realistic and abstract. Some Rift Demon's are animalistic in their appearance, and even have horns like fictional Demons (An example of this is the Spider-like one shown above), while others seem to be creatures much stranger and a lot more alien (One Beastial Rift Demon was nothing more than four human legs connected to a torso with three scorpion stingers coming out of the top; a pencil-based replica of which can be found here sta.sh/0dwpa40dve3 ). Rift Demon's generate their physical structures upon arriving in this universe, or in other words, they force themselves here and create a corporeal form in order to kill and destroy. This corporeal form acts as the vessel of a Rift Demon, and allows it to easily anchor itself to the Universe. In order to "kill" a Beastial Rift Demon, one must damage its corporeal form enough to weaken both it and the Rift Demon so that they can be pushed out by the universe (A process that never kills the Rift Demon, much to the dismay of everyone else). Just as every Rift Demon is different, no two beastial forms are exactly alike, and they all have varying levels of power. It can be hard to gauge exactly how tough a Rift Demon is relative to others, as they all look different and have different strengths and weaknesses, but usually there are two tiers: Lesser Demons and Greater Demons. Lesser Demons make up around 99% of Beastial Rift Demons, and are as varying as the Greater Demons. Lesser Demons are quite tough ("lesser" is a relative term), and can take a lot of punishment before weakening and being temporarily exiled from the universe. Similar to an animal on PCP, A Lesser Demon can get a limb shot off or a stab in the torso and continue as if the injury was not there. This may be partly because of the Demon's high resilience, but also because the Demon knows it cannot be killed, and will not die as a result of straining its temporary form's injuries. The spidery Rift Demon shown above is an example of a Lesser Demon, and it functions like one would expect something of that apearance to function, only with more health. Greater Demon's may look like Lesser Demons, but more often than not that have more spines, more armor plates, or more "decorative" protrusions. Greater Demon's exert a much more powerful hold on the universe than Lesser Demons, and are strong enough to make additions to their corporeal form in battle. This means that a chopped off appendage can regrow as a claw, or the neck of a decapitated Greater Demon can grow a mass of tentacles. This allows the Greater Demon to keep fighting after sustaining injuries, and makes its battle style change while it is being fought. Eventually however, the Greater Demon will weaken like the Lesser Demon, and will be pushed out of the universe, only with more of a fight. Greater Demons are tough, but still not as hard as Ether Soldiers. When any Beastial Rift Demon dies, its body spazzes and then crumples inward as the Demon is purged from the same plane of existance as us. One can fight a room full of Beastial Rift Demons, and at the end the only sign of a struggle will be bullet casings and claw marks.

On Undead
Undead Rift Demons are the most common form of Rift Demon, and the easiest to destroy. They typically have more health than lesser Rift Demons (being very similar to zombies), but are not as strong or as reflexive. Undead Rift Demons can be thought of as "Lesser Lesser Demons", Demons so weak they do not even have the power to assume a form in our world. This does not stop them however, as they settle for second best and simply possess an existing "form" in our world. Wounded people, the mentally weak, and the dead make perfect hosts for these intangible Demons, who possess them, control them, and become them. Undead Rift Demons do not function like zombies. They may walk with a shamble when the body they possess is injured, but generally move at a human speed. Because Rift Demons are intelligent, Undead Rift Demons can access the brain of their host (who is now very dead) and gain their memories, including operation of a firearm and knowledge of any traps or strategies used against them. In rare instances an Undead Rift Demon will possess a human right after death and live among the human populous, acting as a spy and anchor while also being able to live in a world that is not its home dimension. When the time comes however, these "people" are all too willing to take up arms and side with the other Rift Demons against the populace. When enough damage is dealt to an Undead Rift Demon, it will be expelled from our dimension, but its body will remain behind, as it was originally from this universe.

... Holy hot damn that is a lot of description. To those of you who braved it and made it out alive, I hereby christen you as "Text Warriors".

For a quick-fix you can try highlighting the words so that the next line is labeled for you, but that only works on a computer.

This is why I usually have a lot of spacing in my descriptions >.>
