Description
As you can probably guess, this work draws from both Lewis Carroll and Expressionism. Also, there is some Jungian thing going on with the shadow.I dedicate this work to `saintartaud , because she's awesome. She has been very influential on my cultural development, pointing me to artists, films, books, comics, musicians and other things I wouldn't know about if she hadn't recommended them. This work is a "thank you" card of sorts for her. For you, AR.

really awsome concept there, to really appreciate the image one has to imagine he's in alice's place, in the same pose exactly,.. spooky cool
btw doesn't the shadow and the whole scene somehow reminds you of

Personally I donβt interpret it as a claw; I see rather an outstretched hand offering a wreath. For me a claw is perhaps tooβ¦ obvious, if you know what I mean. But a wreath seems to me to be more ambiguous and therefore more evocative and alluring. It gives it a really weird meaning to me; kind of hard to articulate of course, but like sheβs shying away from some kind of dreaded offering or bargain which she canβt escape, represented by her pressing up and struggling against the wall.
I like what ~aliska had to say, this is altogether a capture of something out of context. Thatβs what I love about this I think, that ambiguity it has, there is a definite dream like haze cast over this piece. Itβs undefinable.

What an awesome manipulation. The girls stance is beautiful, almost hopeless in a way, dancing on her own unaware of the claw behind her. The textured wall looking like a crumpled and folded piece of paper to myself, and of course, the inescapable reach of the shadow add to the piece as well. Spectacular work, well worth an

This piece speaks strongly for itself... The girl looks completely focused on her own passion, completely ignoring the world around her as she dances, while the shadow stands there, waiting for the right moment to strike. It's full of suspense and you can almost hear some sort of passionate classic music in the background. Amazing job and definitely a favorite.

What a beautiful picture. I love the shadow, it gives a foreboding feeling to the piece. It's like that feeling you get sometimes in the back of your mind, that you know somethings coming..somethings going to happen but you're not supposed to know what.. It leaves you helpless and waiting.
I'll be imagining what the creature in the shadow looks like. I love it when a picture makes me want to just sit back and daydream, this one does exactly that
