I see what you mean. The photo manip stuff lets me do stuff I couldn't ever do with illustration. (in terms of it's polished, photorealism) I do hope my style shines through despite that.

It does.... Again, I really like your photoshop work...it's a lot of fun and the subject matter is extremely awesome and that good stuff....but when I look at them I think "photoshop" just as much as I think "dopepope", you know what I'm saying? I guess I'm just not a huge fan of "photorealism"...because I think your ABK's would look TONS cooler as illustrations....there'd be so much more fun little detail. Why do you think you couldn't "polish" them as illustrations? I doubt I'm the majority on this subject...just my opinion. Just out of curiousity...how long does a typical ABK picture take you?

Hmm, the ABK's as they are being executed now, take a good 3 weeks to get done. I tend to do them in after hour spurts and weekends, which is why so long. (I work full time, so it's hard) They are meticulous and painstaking, but I feel the finished product is unique and fresh, and also a bit hard to decipher in respect to how exactly it was done, which I like. I certainly do agree these would take on a more energetic and animated quality if I were to illustrate them as I do some other work of mine. That idea isn't terrible, in fact I'll probably do a series just like that. But they'd certainly look different.
