Another thing I did at school... This was a lot of fun and I'm sure that's not the last body part I made

This is really good considering it was your first silicone hand. I know it's a pain to paint... and if you used real nail varnish I'm impressed you didn't constantly have it moving around and reticulating when you applied the second coat... unless it did and you managed to fix it.
I also read that it wasn't your fault for the dark pigmenting... so again another bravo for rescuing it.
What is interesting is that people have mentioned that there should be more bruising around the severed area. Not so... once a body part is severed... there is no blood to make a contusion and instead tends to be very clean and pale.
You can use clear silicon caulk bathroom sealant and pigment it with foundation or oil paint by-the-way, instead of using expensive silicones. I can give you any details on how to use it. Don't hesitate to ask.

The thing about more blood and more bruising is probably because of all the horror movies. I'm pretty sure if people see a real cut and a fake one, most would think the real one looks really cheap.

what kind of school are you attending? This is cool.
Perhaps a little less purple on the nails but other than that it looks real good.

Some more cuts would be awesome to make, but this was my first hand and there was no time for fancy stuff

Hmmm... This looks a bit like a latex slush casting. Am I right? My advice would be to ease up alittle ond the palm coloration. If you want to go really realistic I also would recomend gel 10 silicone. if you don't know what I'm talking about then Youtube search brickintheyard.

It's very opac for silicone. One of the reasons silicone is so widely used is due to it's translucency. Did you color the silicone or was it tinted already?

It was already more or less like this. I added some colour to make it look a little lighter. For my taste, it's too dark, but you gotta take what the teacher gives you
