Finally, I'm done! I'M DONE!!!!! Ugh...

This art submission is actually a gift artwork for the lovely one of 7 gift artworks that I am racing like mad to finish before the end of 2016. It features two of Oscurabella's very own OCs: Rosequartz and Jade. Both of them are characters that I like very much, and so I really wanted to give it my all for this artwork. The thing is... well, out of all the 7 gift artworks, I am the most frustrated with this one. The reason is that so much time has passed between finishing the line work and getting it colored. As a result, I feel my artistic abilities actually ended up outstripping the artwork.

This is also one of the reasons why doing the coloring took so long. You see, my early techniques and methods of coloring were very below par, and it wasn't until much more recently that I suddenly figured out how to color in a way that was infinitely better than the way I was doing it before. Problem was, I couldn't just implement my newer techniques right away, as all the earlier layers and methods that were already implemented in the artwork got in the way and fought against the new, better way. In other words, despite getting so much better and faster at coloring, the net result actually ended up being a slower and more difficult process! This will be the case for this submission and the next one, which is a gift for the every awesome GreenAngel5 . Although, even then, next artwork is going to be at least an order of magnitude greater in terms of quality.

In fact, when I'm done with all the gift works, I'm going to put together a side by side comparison, so you guys can see the huge leaps and bounds I've made with each successive full color illustration. I'm dead serious. This artwork and the next one to be uploaded are essentially going to showcase my abilities from six months ago, so you guys might be pleasantly surprised when I finally release the 7th gift artwork.

Now then, a few more words on the upcoming gifts:

1. , I'm going to be trying something I've never done before with your gift, Magno. It will take a little while, but I think it'll be worth the wait.
2. , Cyrinthia, your gift has by far been the most difficult one for me to draw. I have finally finished the line work for yours. It will be uploaded after GreenAngel's gift. Considering that it's been nearly a year and a half since I first offered to draw you some gift artwork, however... I'm worried.

Finally, a few words on activity. I was originally planning on doing a comment blitzkrieg and then uploading all the gifts at once, but I now recognize that as utterly impractical. I have over 4 thousand watch notifications, and, well...

So I'm just going to be uploading them as they are finished, and desperately trying to make what comments I can. Oh... boy.
