Description So here you have a model you've put time and effort into editing.
you open it up in MMD to test it out....and then this happens.

Part of the hair decides it doesn't want to move.

Okay so I've come across this problem quite a few times when making a model. This problem ususally occurs when you delete off a bone that something was attached to- in my case here, the hair had pigtails with bones in 'em. And becasue I deleted the bones off, this happened.

Feel free to ask questions! but before you do, please read this tutorial first: [link]
this also helps explaing the little * thingy I put in near the end. that slider circled can change how attached the vertices are to the bone.
it's like percentages- 100/bright red is stuck completely, while 50/purple is only half stuck on.

Blue is not stuck on at all.

Omg please excuse my handwriting XDD

EDIT: I'm all for helping people, but this is a TUTORIAL. Not somewhere to post 'pls fix my model for me.' I can't handle all of these requests

I don't mind taking a look at people's models, but if you're asking me to do what is shown in the tutorial, then what's the point of even having this up here? try a few times more before asking me, please.

lmao I also find the most useful things by accident XD

there's weirder things to happen in MMD. have you ever had the feet sucked into a black whole below the feet? or had the body move while the head stays still andyou end up with super streatchy neck? :'D

I've had my hair decide to be shoes and my shoes decide to be eyes. Then there's this: [link]
I have absolutely no idea what happened there... I want to know though...

Otomezaki In reply to ??? [2012-04-16 20:32:25 +0000 UTC]

what if its connected to more then one bone?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ekkoberry In reply to Otomezaki [2012-04-16 22:49:30 +0000 UTC]

where abouts do you have the problem? because I can't think of anywhere where something is connected to more that 1 bone.

I'm not brilliant at rigging, but I would try changing the slider thingy to 50? then clicking on another bone and attatching that 50% too.

but I'm really not sure so you might be better off asking someone else if that doesn't work

Is this a faster way to connect vertexs to bones?

not that I know of;;

Yesterday I did what it told then I realized
it connects vertex to bones alot fater than the other way
wether its new or old bones it still connects the vertex
so yes my answer is answered
thank you for showing the tutoriral

;A; I have a question...okay, I followed your tuttorial (pretty sure I did it right) and the part I did it to follows the models like regualr now but only when the physics are on...when they're not and the model is moved away the part stays in place...

Ekkoberry In reply to MoonlitSatin [2012-04-03 21:01:40 +0000 UTC]

is it a ponytail? I've come across that problem with LAT haku, and my Kiyoko model where I used that ponytail from.

It\s a little irritating, but It does work when the physics are on. I'm sorry, I'm not sure why it does that

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ekkoberry In reply to naga07 [2012-03-25 19:03:20 +0000 UTC]

I'm afraid I've never tried rigging an entire model before, so I can't help you there.

however I would suggest looking at other dolls to study exactly how they're rigged- but not just the animasa dolls- I mean something a little more complicated- maybe like piron?
and note that the bones aren't always dead centre in the model, but sometimes more to one side- like animasa rin's elbows.

Ekkoberry In reply to CosplayChick [2012-03-25 18:22:33 +0000 UTC]

PMD editor? it'd here: [link]

if you mean you want to download a pmd file, you're going to have to be more specific- pmd is the format that about 90% of mmd dolls come in.

just search MMD download and you can easily find a link to a downlaodable doll - try here to start off [link]
dolls all come as zip files or rar files, to hold it's textures and such.
