Description So here you have a model you've put time and effort into editing.
you open it up in MMD to test it out....and then this happens.

Part of the hair decides it doesn't want to move.

Okay so I've come across this problem quite a few times when making a model. This problem ususally occurs when you delete off a bone that something was attached to- in my case here, the hair had pigtails with bones in 'em. And becasue I deleted the bones off, this happened.

Feel free to ask questions! but before you do, please read this tutorial first: [link]
this also helps explaing the little * thingy I put in near the end. that slider circled can change how attached the vertices are to the bone.
it's like percentages- 100/bright red is stuck completely, while 50/purple is only half stuck on.

Blue is not stuck on at all.

Omg please excuse my handwriting XDD

EDIT: I'm all for helping people, but this is a TUTORIAL. Not somewhere to post 'pls fix my model for me.' I can't handle all of these requests

I don't mind taking a look at people's models, but if you're asking me to do what is shown in the tutorial, then what's the point of even having this up here? try a few times more before asking me, please.

How do you move an Item with an bone on it Because when I move an bone the bones are not following when I move an item

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kadanelin123 In reply to kadanelin123 [2012-06-02 12:33:22 +0000 UTC]

I mean when I move an Item, the bones arent following

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ekkoberry In reply to kadanelin123 [2012-06-02 21:07:32 +0000 UTC]

in the second picture/ step 1, the buttons at the top, 'V' and 'B' are circled in green ( and the other 'V')

the first V means 'vertices' which allows you to move the vertices, or object. (the second pops open that window)

the 'B' means 'bones' and having that button pressed will allow you to select, and then move bones.

Will this work if..Oh, I dunno, the entire head refuses to move with the body? Cause I have that problem ALOT =-=

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ekkoberry In reply to Supurreme [2012-05-24 04:26:22 +0000 UTC]

that's due to the fact that the head bone ( if there is one/you haven't deleted it off) is not connected to the rest of the body.

it isn't ( or in most cases it wouldn't be) a rigging problem, but a bone problem.

Could you possibly help me with rigging boots? D: It won't work... I suck at PMD Editor, lol.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ekkoberry In reply to chiigu [2012-05-23 22:55:48 +0000 UTC]

the only advice I can really give is to look at other models and see how they're rigged.

wouldn't they be primarily rigged to the ankle/foot IK bone?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chiigu In reply to Ekkoberry [2012-05-23 23:16:28 +0000 UTC]

It wasn't for me for some reason o.o But I fixed it ! Mostly... Nooow, PMD Editor says 'Model init failed' and won't open it but that's a whole different problem... xD Thanks for helping though.

So, i have this nanami model... Her skirt don't move.. Like, if you move her all, the skirt will go too, but if you move her leg, the skirt will be solid.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ekkoberry In reply to LauraLac [2012-05-19 01:20:03 +0000 UTC]

that isn't a rigging problem, it's a physics problem.

or lack of physics.
is this model luka, mako, yufu or the old momone?

....get the new one then?

it's on nanami's bowlroll. the password is in the description of the sm video in the title of the DL, though you'll probably have to run it through google translate to figure it out.

....the new nanami teto comes as a set with the dress model.

how do you not have it if you one of them?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LauraLac In reply to Ekkoberry [2012-05-19 22:03:35 +0000 UTC]

It's not that teto, with china dress, it's a teto with other kind of dress. That teto: [link]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ekkoberry In reply to LauraLac [2012-05-19 22:05:30 +0000 UTC]

...that's an illegal edit- the dress is originally from gumi.

Oh. My friend gave me that... I didn't know it was illegal D:

yeah, someone went and took the dress from the gumi model and stuck a teto head on it D:

LauraLac In reply to Ekkoberry [2012-05-19 22:22:35 +0000 UTC]

I know you will not give me the password, but, can you please tell me what video it is? You said it's in the description of the file, but there's a lot of stuff there :S

Ekkoberry In reply to LauraLac [2012-05-19 23:15:19 +0000 UTC]

it's on NND. google the SM number in the title of the models.

I did what you said, and my hair won't move at all. ;x Here's my problem; Whenever I load motion data, my model's hair stays in centre the whole time, while the rest of the body is moving. ;x Do you think you could help me with that please? I've been having this problem with many models I've attempted to make.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ekkoberry In reply to NightDaize [2012-05-18 02:43:50 +0000 UTC]

sometimes the model's hair won't move with the model if the physics aren't switched on.

are the physics on when the model dances?

I had found this by accident; I'm so glad I did. It saved me the trouble of re-doing the whole model that I spent forever on for my friend. I had changed the back hair halfway through and was looking for a fix. I was just like, "WHY IS HER HAIR JUST FLOATING THERE?!" lol I've had too much sugar today...
