Seriously?Out of every character in the pokemon anime, Everyone still thinks Misty is the best.
Name one thing Misty did that every girl didn't do besides getting different pokemon
Yes, she grown as a character, but she hardly had any screen time. May, Dawn, and Serena all grown as a character individually because of they had a lot more screen time. Each of the three had episodes focused on them and they were in the spotlight instead of Ash. While Misty unfortunately, whenever she was with Ash, Ash almost always had the spotlight shining on him and Misty was in his shadow. Sure Misty had some episodes focused on her but none of them are memorable except for Togetic's release (which should have never happened).
This just shows that most of the pokemon fanbase are still genwunners

I don't hate Misty per se, nor do I hate her fans. We're all entitled to like whoever but those rabid fans of her are a big issue. I really only see HARDCORE Misty fans when Serena is involved in a discussion or when shipping is involved. I do like Misty but out of all of the Pokégirls she is one of my least favorites. My Favorite Pokégirls go

Misty is low on my list because while she was great at first she went stale during her run with Ash. At first she stalks Ash because of a bike than later became his co-mentor alongside Brock. She helped him start out on his on path to becoming a trainer, but once Togepi came into her life that's where she started to decline for me. Not saying I hate that she became Togepi's mother, no not at all but in Johto that's all she was really there to do. Carry Togepi and just be in the background. She was as much of a piece of furniture as Brock was and didn't do anything noteworthy to accomplish her goal. She got control of the Cerulean Gym because her sisters gave it to her at the last minute and didn't tame Gyrados (a feat for trainers in the anime) until AFTER she left Ash. The closest thing she did to achieving her goal of becoming a Water Pokémon master was competing in the Whirl Island Cup but she lost after defeating Ash and even then she only beat Ash because of PIS. I don't hate Misty but I just like most of her predecessors better. Best thing I can say about her is that she's the most competent battler, but I've heard Iris wasn't that bad of a battler either.

I can't judge Iris because I haven't seen the Best Wishes series so that's why she's last on my list. I JUST came back to Pokémon so I'm in process of playing catch up with the XY series while still keeping up with weekly episodes and my word....Pokémon XY(Z).... why? Why did I comeback to the series so late? Where has XY been my whole life. This is hands DOWN the best Pokémon series I've EVER seen in my life. But once I'm done with XY than I'll move on to the Best Wishes series.

I still should to be fair, I might like it. I didn't expect to like XY as much as I do. What IS atrocious is Gyrados being called the "Atrocious Pokémon" lol. But seriously what is atrocious is that Serena is ranked the "Worst" Pokémon character and someone went as far as make another list on WHY people should hate her and most of if not ALL of those reasons are strawman fallacies that don't even come close to being right or a sound reason to hate her.

A misrepresentation of something basically. A strawman argument is a fallacy done to make something look bad and make it easier to take down or sway others into thinking negatively of it. It's basically making a big deal out of something that isn't really that important or a blatant lie. I.E. On the page of Top 10 Reasons to Hate Serena list people are to saying to hate because of
1. She started a journey to get Ash's attention (Subjective but not necessarily bad, May began a journey to see the world and didn't even care about Pokémon and was using them as an excuse to see the world. That's worse than Serena's reasons to travel which to see Ash again and escape Ryhorn Racing)
2. She doesn't care about her Pokémon (Blatant Lie/Strawman)
3. She has a crush on Ash (Not a reason to hate her, if so than Misty should be hated for that same reason)
4. She ignores Bonnie & Clemont (Blatant Lie/Strawman)
5. She's the worst female lead (Subjective but still not necessarily a reason to hate her)
6. Her Fanbase Sucks (Strawman, Same can be said about the other Pokégirls with Misty having the worse fanbase)
7. She's a Bad Role Model (Strawman, she's more of an admirable character than the others being someone who had no idea what she wanted to do in life, found a goal she's truly passionate about, and refused to give up on it even when her mother pointed out she's someone who quits something if it's too hard for her) and wanted to see it through to the end and wound up winning the Master Class but lost to Aria in the Kalos Queen Title Match. Serena's story is a that of a shy/humble girl who gained confidence in herself and her perseverance took her to the top so yeah sounds like a bad role model right? Let's forget about Brock being a Man-Whore).

I've been fine for some time but when XY started up and I started shipping Amour peacefully I start hearing 'Misty this' and 'Misty that.' And the fact people still think she's going to come back doesn't help. If she's in first place on this list... it's an all time low for Misty on here. I used to like Misty but after getting to know more about Serena & seeing her character get develop more in the show before & after she cut her hair, I prefer Serena more than Misty.

Oh, well, even if it's a joke, it's not a very valid one. Nostalgia can screw with people's perceptions when it comes to some things, but I know people who share deep nostalgia for something but still really thoroughly enjoy recent versions of it. Sorry if I'm over-analyzing things.
