Description
Yeah, it's a crappy flash-thingy, sorry for that. And thanks to *trenchmaker for trying to help me with that. That's the Copic marker Tutorial I wrote a while back. It's pretty basic, but that's usually the way I work with Copics.

Edit
For those, who can't view the file:
Don't download it. It's a flash-file, so you need a flash-plugin to view that file.
It seems you have to wait a bit until the file fully loads. Sorry for that, next time I won't make a flashmovie, but an HTML-zip.

This really helpful. I've never had much luck with markers, and this makes me feel a lot more confident

What kind of papers do you use for copics? Bristol, copic marker pad, sketchbooks? Which paper would you recommend to give the best results, that it doesn't suck up the marker ink, blends well, and makes the color quality vibrant? Thank you.

I used to use regular Bristal paper. Any non-coated paper will make the copics bleed. If you use brilliant-white paper, then the colors will be vibrant.

I haven't touched my markers for quite awhile, but I've used Canson products almost always.

i hate copic. they always bleed and they're expensive but since they're the only ones i have(some basic colors and skin tones)i have to use them.
Your awesome though!

Thanks for the tutorial! I'm determined to try out some of the techniques you mentioned with a new sketch I have done ^___^ I'm hoping to get something clean and finished~~ but who knows yet. I'll resort to digitally coloring it if I must :'3

by not spending the money for other stuff, waiting for support on birthdays, or work. not necessary to have all but i guess ciao are cheaper than sketchers a little , i used both and i prefer ciao so i got me all colors. i was glad i got the two 72 pen sets in about 2 years but then they made 36 new colors and i had to spend another 100β¬ on it - -" but i think their newest colors are really interesting and nice.
iΒ΄m not super great with them yet , tried out different papers from original copic to other marker pads and bristol. bristol works lovely but i feel like it soaks quite a bunch of color sinc eits so thick. I donΒ΄t think copics are that extremely expensive, just one disadvantage i think they run out of color pretty fast

Good job! This helps a lot! I don't have any alpha channel-supporting program, so I just use multiliners for my stuff. Really good drawing by the way, and great choice in colors!

What types of Copics do you use? Sketch or the regular kind?

Both, although not by choice. I simply bought the ones that were available, but I prefer Ciao.

Oh, wow!
I never thought of using the Channels to get the finished linework visible, and I always sketch in blue pencil!
I feel kinda dumb now.
Thanks!

hey what paper do you use? i just got copic markers and their easy to figure out, but the pen bleeds cuz of the paper im using. i tried printer paper and thicker sketchbook paper, but i dont have anything expensive so would you know a good paper to use? i really want to try these, and the only thing i can think to do because of the bleeding is ink really thick and i dont wanna do that.
i dunno, im a copic newb, used em for the first time just 5 min ago...
