If it's set on the blur or sharpen tool, right click it Try clicking R first, so you see which tool that is : D

excuse me, but..

I have this Background layer, and it's locked... how do I get rid of it, for a nice, transparent background?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

etuix In reply to Monsuta-Ko [2009-01-07 20:21:47 +0000 UTC]

If you want a transparent background delete the background layer, or click the little eye next to the layer to hide it : )

It won't save as a transparent file unless you save it as a png files (file - save for the web - png transparent-24)

That should work : D

Ok on part 1 - step 3, is "layer 1" supposed to have an outline? On mine I have a blank layer under my outline layer.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

etuix In reply to RodneyTheDragon [2009-01-03 09:22:52 +0000 UTC]

It should be like this:

Top layer - outlines
all the layers under it - you can color under the outlines

so you have to outline with your mouse? That's too hard for me to do.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

etuix In reply to RodneyTheDragon [2009-01-02 09:42:58 +0000 UTC]

You can outline with your tablet or mouse : ) You can also try using the pen tool, there are a lot of pen tool tutorials here on dA n_n

Wacom now has the Bamboo tablet and they are only $80, pretty cheap n_n

Kioko-the-Pirate [2008-10-24 13:30:45 +0000 UTC]

I have one quick question. It would appear that you left not trace of that purple color you originally used. What was the point of using that color is you just replaced it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

etuix In reply to Kioko-the-Pirate [2008-10-24 14:50:18 +0000 UTC]

What do you mean? Why I choose purple?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kioko-the-Pirate In reply to etuix [2008-10-24 18:18:28 +0000 UTC]

Why did you color the whole thing purple then switch to that bluish color?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

etuix In reply to Kioko-the-Pirate [2008-10-24 18:23:46 +0000 UTC]

I usually choose a darker solid color cause its easier to see a darker vibrant color when its colored outside the lines :3

Kioko-the-Pirate In reply to etuix [2008-10-24 20:27:12 +0000 UTC]

Ah, so you use it to help with cleaning up the lines?

EagleBlaze In reply to ??? [2008-10-23 04:04:48 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, this'll definately make coloring more easier . I've been trying to figure out on how to do coloring faster and this helped a lot!

I know you mentioned that shading is supposed to be developed by the artist themselves but do you know of a place where I can learn the basics of shading in Photoshop? Highlighting would help to, thanks!

Keep up the very good work on your artwork!

I always knew there was a faster way of cleaning up my drawings just wasn't sure how so I would manually erase all colors by hand instead. *shoots self* just wow... . Thank you so much!!!

Ack! Sorry for asking another question, but...when I place the layers under the outline, and then color it...why am I unable to see what I'm coloring on the picture? It only shows up on the layers and only if I place the lineart of the layer under the colors...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

etuix In reply to I-will-choose-to-die [2008-05-18 09:05:05 +0000 UTC]

Make sure they aren't hidden and that your layer is set to Normal.

Otherwise I don't know what the problem is :S

I-will-choose-to-die In reply to ??? [2008-05-17 21:17:38 +0000 UTC]

Um...when I lock my layers, how come I can't color?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

etuix In reply to I-will-choose-to-die [2008-05-17 21:50:05 +0000 UTC]

When you 'lock' your layer, you are only able to color over the parts that are already colored.

Make sure you click the checkered square and not the little paintbrush or lock!
