I have two theories for Tikal's reaction. A, Badniks are generally, and canonically, powered by innocent creatures. Robotnik was weird... Thus, with Sonic frying them like he is, Tikal's afraid Sonic might accidentally hurt them.
B, These are Badniks. Robotnik is deader than a doornail thanks to Shadow. Why the heck are there Badniks kicking around?
