Description
She did not see herself as a righteous woman, just a simple person living life by her own values. She followed no religion or leader, she listened to her own conscience and held her own morals. While others avoided certain pleasures and desires in fear of a higher power, she did so on her own terms. There was no judgment or disgust towards those who partook in such activities, as that was their choice and not hers. When the voice beckoned from somewhere beyond, she was confused. She was no follower of the gods, nor did she ever experience such delusion. Despite this, the voice rang in her mind and offered a higher purpose. Believing this to all be a dream, she declined and sought to wake up. Unfortunately, her refusal did not stop the infection. What had visited her had planted the disease, and it would soon infest her very soul. The voluntary restraints she once followed now became obsessions to her. She avoided these sinful things like the plague, and even the thought of them brought terror to her diseased mind. Things like food and drink soon became objects of sin, and she refused to consume them. When hunger and thirst wracked her body, she believed it was another temptation. To ensure she would not give in to these desires, she took a needle and thread to her mouth. This mutilation did not end here, as her delirium soon found other sources of temptation and she forced new restraints onto her flesh. In time, the Threads of Temperance overtook her body and her infested mind was turned onto the world. The infection that consumed her reduced her to the warped creature that now slithers through the shadows. Filled with disgust towards to her own nature and wants, she has mangled her own form and bound herself tight. Where blood and veins once ran, now crimson threads slither about. They burst from her flesh and squirm about like vile serpents, but they are hers to command. She has used these strands to bind her limbs and body, but it is not enough to appease her tortured thoughts. There are others out there who still give into avarice and temptation. Sinners who lead disgusting lives of want and desire. With this, she haunts the land in search of these blasphemers, seeking to end their unrestrained ways. Those she finds will be besieged by her bladed strands, their flesh torn by hook and needle. To keep these vile beings from giving into food and drink, she will used her threads to sew their mouths shut. So they are not tempted by the aroma of these forbidden meals, she will seal their nose as well. However, they may still gaze upon these sinful things, so their eyes must be sewn shut too. This madness of hers will continue, until every orifice is sealed. In time, the poor soul will have their limbs bound tight and the threads will continue to work. Like a rotted spider, she will cocoon her victims in a tomb of strands, at last restraining them for good. These cocoons will be hung from trees and ceilings, and she will leave them so that the trapped victim may meditate on their trespasses. Unfortunately, those sealed within will often perish from blood loss or dehydration, but this does not sway her mission. Those who perish were simply weak, and incapable of getting over their vile desires. She will continue to travel from town to town, enshrouding each village with her threads and leaving a populace of writhing cocoons in her wake.
Some may say that her cruel mission shows hypocrisy in her ways, as she shows no restraint in her rage and hatred. These uncontrolled feelings of hers may be the true cause of her suffering, the reason why she cannot find inner peace. Some believe that this may be the key to calming this raging monstrosity, but many are skeptical. Those with delusions of grandeur and righteousness are often blind to their own hypocrisy and flaws. Either they are truly ignorant to these failings, or they are terrified to acknowledge what they have become...

We must always seek perfect balance. *half the life in the Universe gets wiped out*

For the Plagues of Virtue, they probably won't ever find balance. They would wipe out everything under the delusion that it was all tainted and sinful.

Just like Thanos...except they would wipe out more than half.

It sure is! The idea of needles and thread slithering through your body kind of creeps me out.
