Description
I dropped to the ground and rolled as another projectile shot past my head, barely touching my ear. I quickly stood up and jumped out of the way as another red blur of death shot past my right side, nearly taking my glasses with them as it smashed against the wall and back into the hands of my attacker.

He was a tall kid, with unfortunately big arm muscles, which helped him as he flung the things towards the wall at dangerous speeds. I was the last one standing, and he had begun to aim for me.

The attacks came quickly and without warning as I struggled to dodge them without falling towards the ground. I spun around quickly to avoid another one and my glasses flew off and landed in the lap of one of the spectators.

One ball came towards my feet and I instinctively lifted my leg up to dodge it. However, he had anticipated it... and threw another. It hit me on the side of my knee, jamming the opposite side into the wall. I screamed in pain and clutched my leg, falling to the ground and rolling back and forth.

"Last one out! You're throwing this time!" Called the gruff voice of the former attacker. The other people started streaming back towards the wall as I hopped on one foot towards the ball.

First, I stopped to stare at it. It was one of the newer bouncy balls, bright red, with a rough surface. It smelled of rubber... oh, I loved that smell. Cracking my knuckles, I launched the new ammunition towards the group of people.

Instant contact. I heard swearing under someone's breath as they went to sit down on the sidelines. Slowly, my accuracy started failing as more and more people were sent out to sit down. Soon, there was one person left... the boy that had hit me in the leg.

I cracked my neck and he glared at me. Taking a deep breath, I raised to ball to strike and...

RING RING RING! The bell to end recess sounded across the field.

"This isn't over!" I shouted as the group of players retreated. "I will beat you in dodgeball!"

"You wish!" He yelled back, then vanished into the crowd of seventh graders.
