Do wedge tailed eagles eat a lot of carrion? It kinda looks like it because he's got a considerable amount of bare skin on his face.

thanks. Nah, they're basically like Australia's version of the golden eagle. If they ate carrion predominately the top of the head would likely be featherless

It also doesn't have golden hackles, it's are the same color as the rest of it's feathers. birds are extraordinary creatures.

Yeah, they look close. Wedge tailed eagles are a bit darker, though.
